This is different from your usual, Tom. Grim, wry irony.
Cleanse the detritus.
Tidy up a bit.... good, pithy refrain to tie up the stanza with.
Just sayin'!
Happy New Year, friend.

Hi Sonali. Yes, I thought I'd try some more cryptic free verse of political satire for a change.
-
Cryptic all right, Tom! Not going to touch on the theological aspect of things ... :) :)

Heard you loud and clear.
An unusual and unexpected subject but obviously one you are passionate about.
Very thoughtful and thought provoking.
It's great to give our thoughts free reign.

Interesting piece, very interesting. Very well written with strong words and sentiments. I don't know if there is a metaphor on it, it makes me think. Just sayin'

Thank you Amada. That is what I wanted to do. Get people to think.

You pull no punches here. A poem that really does make you stop and think. So much uncomfortable truth in it. The short lines add impact and the conversational tone is a perfect foil for the satire. I wouldn't mind seeing this one go viral on the internet. Here are six stars to get it started!

That is what many think. If you are not like them or they don't like you, you are trash and they think people are disposable. You conveyed your message well.

Who is Hiller? Or was that supposed to be Hitler? If so I m not sure he is a very politically correct example, lol. I thoroughly concur with the sentiments behind this piece of free verse.

I thought it probably was.

I agree with thee message in this post. Why would we allow others to come into our homeland and let them destroy what we cherish. Good luck in the contest. Blessings, Patricia

Excellent. I like this free verse. You certainly make a point with this one. It has been true since the beginning of time; if you want a land just take it. Good work
