This is very well written and touches my heart and soul. I am not opposed to the death penalty, but it is hard to read of the final moments in the life of a prisoner on death row. I admire the compassion that comes through in your writing. Patricia

Well written story that adds plenty of high tension to further the reader's interest.
Cliffhangers always make a reader wonder what is going to happen next, and add another dimension to the story line.

This was quite riveting to read, you definitely conquered building tension! I will have to go back and read the previous chapters so that I am up to date when the next one is read. I can find no suggestions to make, great details and pacing throughout.

I can't believe how well you captured the loneliness and loss of hope that a death row inmate would feel, and how gentle the main character is being in spite of it all. The only thing that caught me off guard was when you said she was looking at Donna being on the phone, since she is obviously blind by her need to feel around. The flow of the story is wonderful, and i really hope there are brighter parts of the story.

First off, thank you for picking up on her blindness...that sometimes slips through the cracks as,, having a visual impairment myself, all such things are just a natural part of life for me. Blind people often "look at" or "see" things. The language doesn't really change, but I should perhaps word that better. Thanks again.

It's interesting that doing something similar to our character often changes how we would describe the situation. That's what I like about the feedback aspect of this sight.

Just a heads up. In a future chapter, Sarah clarifies what it means for a blind person to be "seeing" or "looking" at something. It'll be up later this week.

No, I have never been remotely near an execution apart from movies like "Dead Man Walking" and "The Green Mile". This case is actually based on a case from the 1940s (a real-life Supreme Court decision came out that year that the characters now have to try and overturn in the 21st century.) Human emotions interest me and I just thought long and hard about what Sarah would be feeling in those final hours. Thanks so much for your kind words...it's nice to hear how spot-on I can be.
