I have been so blessed. I don't feel stress much. If it's a personal crisis, I handle it, but then when it's over, I will fall apart. I think that comes from all my years in nursing. I turn things over to God, but it is usually after I've tried everything I can do. It would be easier for me if I could do it right away. You did a great job. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon. Shirley

Hello Dennis,
This was timely for me. Like all people, I was having a bit of a time tonight. It was nice to read and get comfort from these words. God always sends us a lifeline when we need it. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

    Hi Tom, glad it was timely for you. Looking back at many pressured experiences, I can honestly say I learned more about God in those times than countless times of everyday blessings. God bless you brother, Dennis

The thing I've noticed in scripture reading, between the lines, was that once he discovered "the true way", he never really deviated from it, describing himself as the "Pharisee of Pharisees" he was initialling convinced that Judaism was the way, and Christianity was a usurper that needed to be extinguished. God sees the potential, not the sin in us, that's my excuse for becoming God's slave, I was/am a sinner of the highest order, and once God found me, knew me well enough to call me by His grace, where else can one go? Paul was the same. I understand him. Well done, blessings Roy

    Thanks Roy. I am blessed to know God never sees His own born-again children as sinners. He continually sees us wrapped in the righteousness of Christ, as He continues to "grow us up in grace" both by His encouraging and His discipline found in His Word.

    God bless, Dennis

Well said. Well written. Amen.
Nothing I could ever hope to add to Paul's encouraging words.
There is no telling the perils he suffered. He said it was deadly. That's enough for me, especially when American Christians feel that persecution is 'ugly looks' from people.
Best wishes.

Denniz,

This is vey powerful message at a time when egos know no bound, and we all prepare to sustain ourselves during the dark times (economic and spiritual) that lie ahead.we should be judicious in our preparations, but not rely on them. Excellent post.

Sue

Thus it becomes apparent we we need help in this area: who are we going to trust, self or God? -- extra "we"

    Thank you. Spurgeon once said, "Our turning to God in prayer is greatly facilitated by knowing there is no where else to turn."

    I have found it so. God bless, Dennis

    Fascinating. I had never considered that perspective in exactly that manner.

Your argument, as I read it, anyway, seems sound to my unspiritual ears. Your faith has the feeling of authenticity and deeply rootedness in the teachings. For that and for sharing your beliefs you are to be commended.

    That's very kind of you, Jay, and I thank you. You commendation is appreciated but as its been pointed out by some, "If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know he didn't get there by himself."

    Take care and God bless you, Dennis

Very interesting. I have never seen the teachings of Paul relayed through pressure. I'm sure he was under tremendous stress, going from tent maker to a fisher of men. I like how you brought out your beat point out in the last two paragraphs, building to somewhat of a crescendo. Very nice work.

    Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Much of the pressure he experienced came from the Pharisees, who hated him as a turncoat since his conversion to Christ. As he once persecuted Christians so they persecuted him.

    He want's us to know always it is the Living Christ who sustained Him we a view to helping us to see we can experience the power of Christ here and now. Our natural human weaknesses become our credentials for such empowering through prayer and the Word of God. God bless you, Dennis

Another great read, my friend. It seems to be during these times of testing and trials are when are faith grows the most. God uses these times to melt and mold us into what He created us to be. The whole point is we can't do it without Him. Hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

    Thank you and I would only add times of testing open us up to deeper and more complete understanding of not only who God is, but who we are in Christ. Our standing in grace as new creatures before Him also should whet our appetite to know His agenda for us, the church, Israel and the unbelieving world. As stated in Proverbs 1

    :?How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?
    For scorners delight in their scorning,
    And fools hate knowledge.
    23 Turn at my rebuke;
    Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
    I will make my words known to you.

    Let's make it our goal to know God's Word more thoroughly in this coming new year. God bless you, Dennis

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

The Apostle Paul was chosen by the LORD GOD to do two things and this is why his ministry is honor and speaks volumes to many whom are called Christians. Looking at Acts: He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?""Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied."Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." Acts 9, so out of the Lion's den into the sweet arms of the LORD do we go. To Annias, the LORD revealed Paul's purpose: The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name."But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name." Acts 9, In our weaknesses, the LORD GOD anoints us with the Spirit of GOD, so that we can actually know how to walk according to the will of the Holy Father. So as the core of Christianity starts with Judah, the ancestor of king Saul unites the people through the anointing of the LORD GOD whom John the Baptist provides:information on: "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matthew 3:11, So when we are under pressure, it is because the one whom mislead the world is being seen through the eyes of the One whom saves. Amen and blessings

    Thank you and it is important to see Paul's Christ given role in the on going revelation of God's Word, now completed. Actually listening to Paul and studying his 9 letters to and about the church will keep us from much error. Paul makes clear the distinctions between the Kingdom teachings and the teachings intended for the church. Being filled with the Spirit does not mean we automatically now understand the bible completely. Paul's instructions to Timothy preclude that idea while pointing the way to true and more complete understanding: 2 Timothy 2:15 [Full Chapter]
    Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. God bless, Dennis
