Hi Brett,

The rose is beautiful. It's my favorite flower, although I like the ones that have a deeper color. Your lyrics are nice too. I enjoyed them very much. You are so great at writing all kinds of things and I always look forward to reading them.

This would make a great country music song! As a recovering alcoholic I can relate to the pain the MC has. I thought it had its own rhythm thing going on. I like it!

Great Poem. In the first paragraph - I feel the hurt from his drink in the hands of another like the sight of a girlfriend with another man. In the second paragraph - I see him trying to win her back. In the third paragraph - I feel his rejection. In the fourth paragraph - He is ready to fight for her. In the fifth paragraph - he takes a lot at himself, who he is, where he's been, what he's doing, where he's going. In the sixth paragraph - he is concluding he has no future without her. In the end - he sees he near the end.

Great Poem...if I had a 6 star left I would give it

Hi Brett, this is a wonderful set of lyrics that I really enjoyed reading, but they also read good as a poem, the rhythm allows for that, the rhyming - though you say in your notes not to bother looking for it - is excellent!
Good all round work I thought.

Nice song lyrics with a sad story of a heartbroken man drowning his sorrow by drinking. The repetition of the line "... if drinking will kill me I ain't got far to go"
expresses the hopelessness he feels.
Blessings,
Anabella

Yes, if drinking won't kill you your broken heart will.
This is a very good 'free style' lyrics Brett MW. I could sense the jealousy as the jilted looked across the bar at his love lost and the desperation of drowning sorrows in a bottle. Good imagery and creatively written. Well done.

A break up in a bar room between two people, and the third person is also present cannot lead to anything good. Stanza 4 line 2 reads man's who's shouldn't it be man's whose ? Or last man whose ? Last man who's ? NS if you drink to die it will actually take longer as when you stop drinking cold turkey without professional help you will die much quicker. (Just a thought)

"who's" is the contraction of who is. "Whose" means it belongs to somebody. Glad you enjoyed these lyrics. Your comments and support appreciated.
