Very enjoyable work if a trifle on the sad side. Love has to flow both ways to work.
This tells of what can happen in such a poignant way that the reader almost feels sorry for the wrongdoer

Good love poem to the one who left you, because you jumped the fence. Remorse is a good thing but it always come too late, think before you jump the fence again, if she is going to take you back. NS Check stanza two, if it was not intentional your second line have two times 'that'.

I have used a lot of songs to create imagery and poetry for people as a gift. Often the song words are amazingly incoherent. I really like the flow of this song, It has a country feel and would love to hear it with music. I would like to see a repeated chorus that holds the actual theme of the song together, It appears too short in its current form.

I can't decide whether the speaking sounds like he could take her or leave her or if he's smitten and unfamiliar with the feeling. Fun lyrics that would probably be just as fun to sing.
