I love dogs and the Malinois is such a stalwart, intelligent and fearless partner in the service of those mortals who serve. I'm just so sorry that Diesel was sacrificed and died at the hand of those dispicable terrorists. Excellent read. The service dogs don't get nearly enough praise and attention.
Blessings to you,
Linda

This poem makes all working dog owners both proud and, I'm sure, cringe at the thought that their friend may be taken out. The trust bond must be a difficult link to simply get over.

Zanya: dogs never seem to get the recognition they deserved for their bravery so this is quite special and says a lot of good things about you, too. Well written poem. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. livelylinda

I love the artwork you choose to go with your poem.
It is a perfect match, how grand it is to have a animal who like part of the family who gave his live to save other. Our family dog did the same thing.
Tip-Toe gave his life protecting our home from robbers.
Thank you for sharing.

This is a great acrostic poem and tribute to the brave Malinois police dog Diesel. Your sentiments are tombstone worthy. You give us a sense of the dog's character and courage. Your words also flow beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

The guard dog is an extension of its human handler. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

This is an interesting poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. This reminds me of a friend who paid tribute to his army dog that died recently. well done.

I think using the acrostic structure has no doubt made this tribute more special. To lead with his name really impacts. You have described his qualities of intelligence, bravery, sure-footedness and serenity very well in minimal space to give the reader an understanding of Diesel's being. The final line is saved for your feelings now he's gone. A fitting and sweetly written elegy.
