This should scare the heck out of people. God will no longer be seen as a god of love as his Armageddon angels wreak havoc among the populace. What I liked about this was the clarity of the message and the relentless sense of threat you've maintained throughout. Even the turn from the horror was worse than the horror threats of the opening stanzas, For people calling for compassion are simply swept aside. Very well written with a horrible, almost realistic message. Best of luck with the voters who may be too scared not to vote for you.

Thank you for the fantastic review, Mark. I think it's funny when people say, "Oh, a loving God would never do such a thing." I always say, yeah, tell that to the whole world He drowned. I was raised to believe some day, after the tribulations, God's going to finish this world off. He did say he wouldn't end it with a flood again but this is only one scenario of how that will come to pass. Maybe He'll just hurl the earth into the sun, lol. Who knows. I really appreciate the generous stars, M. I'm glad you liked the piece. Yeah, I don't plan on too many votes, haha. Have a good one.

What an excellent choice of topic for a horror poem! But beyond that, this is such a well-written sonnet, with creative rhyming and perfect iambic pentameter. The final couplet sends chills up the spine. This sonnet is amazing and I'm glad to give it the six stars it deserves. Is this contest over?

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and the big sixer, Adonna. Yeah, I like the sonnet form the best so I just had to jump in this contest, lol. There's a few great entries so far. I think it gets to the booth next weekend sometime. I dearly appreciate the gracious rating and kind words, A. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again. Have a wonderful night.

Hey, Deb, hello. Thank you so much for the fantastic review and the big sixer. The sponsor of the contest encouraged using extra pics and anything else we wanted to use. When I went looking for angel pictures, I found numerous pics I'd like to have used but kept it down to just the four, lol. With the pictures between stanzas I believe it gives the reader a few more moments for the last stanza's words to really sink in. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars, Deb. I'm humbled. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

As always, your sonnet is perfect with rhyme, meter, alliteration, and enjambment. Your horror elements add some real pizzazz. I know lots of writers are using numerous illustrations and animation in their poetry, but I feel they draw attention away from the power of the words. Best wishes in the contest, Ron with your excellent sonnet.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Thank you for the great review, Karyn. There's a couple reasons for all the pics. First reason is that Dean is sponsoring the contest and he encourages the extra flare. Another reason is with the pics between the stanzas it gives a brief moment for the words of the previous stanza to sink in. And mainly because when I went looking for angel pics, I came across all these cool pictures and didn't know when I'd ever be writing about angels again, lol. I dearly appreciate the gracious star and good luck wishes, K. I'm glad you liked this dark piece.

Maybe, those that have sinned and failed to repent will get their just deserts at the end. Horrific imagery and excellent rhyming. Good luck in the contest. faye

This is awesome. I am so sorry to be out of sixes. You have crafted a terrifying tale of the destroying angels and how anxiously they await the signal to commence the destruction. The formatting and pictures are fantastic.

Amen. Such a powerful message you have delivered through your poem. People want to believe everything is going to be grand when they pass. They have to know the saving power of God and the realization of hell. You have delivered the warning. God bless.

Hi Ron,
The six stars are for the words alone, as they are bold and strong and the imagery within paints a picture to which the artwork pales in comparison. I believe you hold a contest winner here, though I have not seen the other entries. Wishing you the best of luck.

Hey, Kim, hello. Thank you so much for the gracious review and kind words. So far no one else has entered the contest. Hopefully it will do well but I find that when I give the people 'real' horror, it doesn't seem to fly too well. I dearly appreciate the big sixer, Kim. I'm humbled. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again. Have a great day.
