Great entry for this Diamante Poetry Contest you have crafted well. I am not versed in this style, but I find this piece powerful and deep my friend.
God bless and best of luck in the voting.]

Thank you so much. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back. It's been crazy, but fun, with the baby! Truly have a great day.

Babies are quite the handful, but such a joy! My pleasure my friend.

I like how you turned around the polar opposites, it became a logical transition as opposed to a sudden unexplained shift due to the words "respite, illumination".
I am not a big fan of this form - I keep procrastinating writing mine - but this is very smooth!

Nice to see you posting just when I am visiting, dear friend.
Wonderful transformation overtones in this well-penned diamante. I'm not a huge fan of this form, but you've done it well...which is not easy to do. Bravo! This definitely leaves the reader feeling inklings of hope welling up...and I think inspired and determined are pitch perfect words choices for that penultimate line.
Love the metaphorical gist of your artwork choice too...perfect match!
Good luck in the contest.

Hello my friend! It's so good to see your name. I was sick for a little while so I was away. I got second in this. Pretty cool. Funny though, I saw this the day before the deadline. I wrote it at the airport in about five minutes. Just to get the creative juices flowing. Funny that it placed, when I put so much hope into others haha.
Thank you!

Hope you're feeling better. Some of my best poems were written in five minutes! :) Kudos on placing! Warmly, rd

A fine little diamante this, a proper little gem in fact, or at least it would be if you ticked the "centralize" box as it would then show up in the conventional diamond shape from which the form takes is name.

From Despair to Hope in a well crafted Diamante. the wording is wonderful and well chosen. My own preference is that the text is centred to give a true representation of the form, but as I say it's my own preference and it takes nothing from your great poem. Best wishes for the contest.
Bless you
John

Gregory,
You've written an outstanding Diamante entry! You've captured
the well chosen opposing words 'Despair and hope' brilliantly with it.
I love your turn with "illumination" and it seems to be in fine form.
It's a very inspiring poem and best wishes in the contest,
Linda

Respite, illumination and the the climb out. Reaching, climbing, standing- reminds me of my rock climbing days. Actually had a view of the clouds a tiny bit close to your picture. Needless to say, I get the climb. I am in the valley now and hope you are out of the valley. Excellent entry and good luck in the contest!

Thank you for this outstanding review, as always. But. Talk to me man. What's going on? Ugh. Believe me, I was just in the valley last week. It was from going off a medication I think, but either way, it was scary and brutal. How are you?
