I want to congratulate you on winning the contest. If I was going to lose, I'm glad it was because of your profoundly sensitive poem. As a therapist that has significant experience in working with children and adolescents who have had to face a life-threatening illness, this poem is so understanding of the pain parents experience. Again, congratulations. -Bill (Mine was Choices II)

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I am so sorry to all of the parents out there who have had to go through this, my prayers are with you. This is very well written and will make anyone feel sadness. Thank you for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

A very touching poem. No child deserves to suffer like this. I liked the simplicity of this poem and the idea of the cat waiting at home made it really personal.
best of luck in the contest

My daughter and the family well know about this. We spent much time at the Children's Hospital before losing our Nathan to this dreadful sickness. Hope you win your contest.

Hello :)

It is true, children suffering is the worse kind. They die from abuse, neglect and disease. Your poem is well written and thoughtful. Good job!

Poignant and compelling. Would indeed be the worst suffering to see a child this way. Well said. Great idea. Best of luck in the contest.

Such a powerful poem you have penned. I pray those that endure such loss are able to find comfort. When children suffer it is difficult to see or understand. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

A gripping poem of suffering, now and after this poor child is dead. You capture how all parents must feel. Well written.

Cancer is a deadly disease for anyone. Adults (some) may get it by life style they live. But it is very heartening and painful when a child gets it. You have chosen a very good subject for this contest and narrated well. Best of luck
