Hello, lancellot,

I appreciate your opinion about this contest prompt. It is a mystery, at times, as to why some folk win and others lose.
My personal feeling is that the committee tends to reward those who are more active on site...of course, that's just a guess. Lol.
Who really knows?

Nice job stating your case...sorry it held little weight with the voting committee, but hey, you can't win if you don't play, right?

One NIT!! You forgot to put "humble" in your title. That way we know you aren't one of those who ALWAYS WIN!!! You could be masquerading as a loser, after all. Without being able to identify you as a loser ... I might give you an incorrect ('politically', that is), rating.

If you want help ... I know ALL the committee and have them eating out of my hand ... well my chocklit stash anyway. That's why I always WIN. So there is really no hope for you anyway. Ah, now I see the humor! Care-Bears! Funny.
Political rarely wins because, no matter how well it's written, politics is polarizing. I'm not condoning it, just pointing out the obvious. The Committee is made of people (I assume). Political pieces split people apart.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't write them. But maybe you should adjust your expectations of winning. Again, I'm not saying it's fair. But is fairness a reasonable expectation? Communities dictate fairness. Which brings me to the sex issue. Are you surprised sex doesn't sell here? Of course not. Do you have a gripe? Absolutely. Are you going to win? Don't hold your breath.
But you already know that.

Look, I don't know how serious you are with this entry. But I'm glad you wrote it, because it gave me a chance to get some things off my chest.

We've bought into a community. we either live within its confines, or we rebel. I applaud both approaches.

So, where were we?

Of course your 2nd last paragraph should apply, but given human (and voting) nature on here, I doubt it ever will.

It really gets my goat when I see, for example, another six votes have been cast - I haven't received any, and my entry hasn't even been VIEWED in that time, GRRR! ;-)

You also pick out the most successful and no-no themes.
