Your parents remarriage? Did they divorce and remarry, or like a renewal of the vows kind of thing? Just curious. I'm sure a train trip would be great. We've looked into taking a train to different places. It's kind of expensive but I'm sure it's amazing

They broke up in about 1959. They never divorced until a MIssion Society my mum wanted to work with overseas said it was stupid she had to ask her long lost husband permission to leave the country. If you look near this chapter in my book I wrote about it. Dad ask her to take him back I won't spoil it anymore read it. Only a chapter or two back. Review it if you like. No rewards sorry. Thanks for the review on this one.

Hi, Geoff. I must have missed this chapter first time around as I do not remember your like for train rides like this.
Good images from your trips throughout, my friend.
Suggestion: A small one but nevertheless I think I should point it out: Correct this: "Another trip I did..."
Change to "another trip I took"
Also, A yank like me does not understand this term: " cost ($AU30 a time)" It would be helpful if you explained how much currency that is in terms of American money if possible.
Thanks for sharing, mate. Bob

Thanks mate much appreciate the suggestions. As we have been discussing the greenback and Aussie Dollar are still poles apart might have been better comparatively back then will work on your suggestions and get you back to look again later.

And Thank you, Geoff. :) Bob

Bob I did the updates you suggested including a rough estimate of Yankee Dollar equivalent to the $AUD99.00 back in the 80's.

Thank you, Geoff :) I'll have another peek. Bob

I hate it when my friends re-post something and I haven't previously read it. I am grateful for the opportunity to read it, but wonder why I hadn't read it previously. Again, thank you for re-posting.

Thanks Sis I don't understand why folks miss some of these first time either but, good thing is I have re-edited and improved it since last time. All this has only become possible because the blocking thing stopping me reviewing from both accounts has been lifted allowing me to build up funny money and pick up Revives where they were available. Bob Hartson is only just picking some of these up too and has made some further good suggestions. Let you k now when I have applied those.

Thank you for sharing your "railing" adventures with us. How wonderful that the staff was able to locate and get you your hearing aid. That's amazing service! And how in the world did you get that many words on a postcard? I love how you mark history in reference to meeting your lovely wife!

Thanks Ulla it was really enjoyable and a credit to my friend Jim for putting all the bookings away for me for ages before I actually did the trips. A lot of those railways don't exist anymore either.

Hi, "Large"- I always especially enjoy your trips that involve trains, since my son is a rail buff. He is actually driving a Fillmore and Western locomotive today as a Federally certified train engineer. I liked your "compendium" and was glad all your connections worked. I am relieved you recovered your hearing aid and I am pleased you included the postcard and acknowledged your extra, birthday celebration. Smiles- Joan

I like the way you shared so many pictures about your trip through New South Wales. I've always wanted to try a trip like that on a train. So glad you found your hearing aid. What a great adventure. Nicely written!

Thanks, Sandra I am not sure we have met before I am a great believer in reciprocating reviews. I will look for your stuff. We are heading to publishing with all this just pulling out chapters that have not been overly reviewed and I think more might be interested to read from my biography.

I do not recall this post and the trip sound both fascinating and comfortable. I love trains too. When I was a child my sister and I took a train to Vanouver, BC Canada every summer. It was great fun and a source of wonderful memories too. Great work with this one. I am sure you are pleased you were able to do so much traveling when you were younger.

Hi mate yes it was really enjoyable and only made possible because of my best friend Jim's filing all the trips away on the Countrylink system so long before I actually did them. Just pulling chapters out that have not been overly reviewed and may be of interest to more as you have said. Re-posting the better chapters as I get enough funny money up to do them. Thanks for coming by.

How fascinating and you even have some pictures too! These memories stay with us and travelling always broadens our horizons and helps us to view the world differently, in a more pragmatic and open way, love Dolly x
