I love the tempo of this one and the fact that it is about a dragon. Also, I really like the rhymes, they flow very nicely. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this poem.

Hi May 1,
I am happy you liked this one. It is one of my favorites, but then I have a soft spot for dragons. I have an entire collection of ceramic dragons. Love 'em!

Yeah, I love dragons, too so it was really fun to read.

Wow, Debi, you convey the immense power and apparently insurmountable position of this Dragon Queen. I think I'd let her be, however powerful a 'Knight' I was.
Impeccable rhymes and meter throughout.
Top write!
Best wishes, Ray xx

Thank you for the great review, Ray. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and read, especially since this is not promoted at the moment. Watch out for the dragon.

The dragon Queen, effective presentation with an appropriate stylised picture.
Married to poetry of high quality equals an atmospheric read.
I like this work, the complex rules work in this case.

Hi Mel,
Thank you for the encouraging comments. I like that you found this to be an "atmospheric read." I was hoping to create a threatening mood.

Yes a threatening, atmospheric read with depth. I write too quickly at times...Mel.

Hi Debi, This was such a joy to read. The meter is perfect and you chose extraordinary words to produce vivid images. After reading your notes, I see a lot of effort went into this. I'm not a poet, but I know what I enjoy reading and this piece was definitely enjoyable. Hugs, Lou

Hello from Taos, New Mexico. Sorry I'm late getting to this Debi. I've never written a Kyrielle Sonnet so I can't speak to the form--although it looks mighty fine to me. I love its theme, however, and the great little story you tell! Great job, my friend.

Hi, Rebekka,
Hey, I appreciated this great little story in a poem.
Of course, it might help that I enjoy the theme of dragons and have no problem imagining the setting:)
Still, you spin the spell and visions swell within the open mind. And cautious knights concerned with life might find this prey unkind!
A fun read...love your styling!
Hope all is well,
Bill

I enjoyed your poem very much. The form is wonderful, don't think I've read a Kyrielle Sonnet before. The flow and imagery are nice. Oh, I do like tales about dragons.

Your lovely work here has movement and passion. A very lovely combination. I am not familiar with the style but its sounds lovely. My fave "Oh, let them come if they so dare/The dragon queen is in her lair." Wow!

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. I appreciate the kind words about the writing and you taking time to point out what you like. What are your suggestions for improving this piece?
-
Moi, improving this piece?

I ask because the reviewing guideline state four stars indicate some revision is needed. I am open to suggestions and ideas. I just wondered how or what ideas you might have. Nothing is perfect and I mean to improve.
It's okay if don't have any suggestions, I just wondered.
