Hey there Shirley

I remember when I went to Australia on business to New South Wales i984, I was told about Mount Wollumbin and if I ever returned to go to any of the luxury resorts. I love the Gold Coast and looked forward to returning. NEVER dis. I loved your poem and the rhyme and colors where superb
Nice one

    Thank you,
So near and yet so far it seems.
I am not a fan of the Gold Coast but I do love my valley.
Some urbanisation is creeping in now though which is such a shame.

Lovely descriptions of this landscape with the towering volcanic mountain. I enjoyed all the interesting information on the history of the mountain and why it was revered by aboriginals. Excellent rhyming. Two things, verse 2, ship's log book/ships' log books. Verse 4, its core (it's = it is) Enjoyable read. faye

I appreciate your review and glitch checks.
I do have real comma issues-in or out?
What I thought I learnt at school now seems all wrong.

The aboriginal people have always amazed me, and to live in their land is something that must be an honor, and home no matter where is just that. Home. Nice flow and rhyming throughout. Enjoyed the picture your words painted. Les

You did this volcano a wonderful tribute here and after reading it I want to see it. Maybe one day. I'm sure living by it is beautiful and gives your wonderful scenery. Wonderful job friend

Shirley;
-I enjoyed reading your poem about this historical volcano that stands as a sentinel over the land. The writing was very well written and I founded it excellently stylish.
-Each of your rhyming words were contingent to the meaning and concept of each line therefore making the rhythm to flow smoothly also was helpful was the fact that neither of your rhyming was forced nor labored.
-The rhythmic meter being iambic tetrameter And the cadence, timing and tempo wall helpful in making the reading clear, fluid and so very easy.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running on of a thought and concept from one stanza, couplet and line to the next without a syntactical break.
-The imagery was totally excellent and exquisitely expressive in vividly and demonstratively descriptive throughout the writing.
-I can see with his volcano acts like a god to the surrounding habitants.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always Shirley.
Alex

The way you describe this place, I'd love to visit it some day. It's so nice when people don't get used to the scenery around them and take it for granted, but still appreciate it.
Very much enjoyed your poem. :)

A charming poem singing the praises of Austraia's high volcano. Many people have attempted the climb , the reward is the view. These high ,almost inaccesible mountains hold mystic power - they are in tune with the stars.

1.) Native people watched (on shore?)

2.) If travel (here appeals and draws??)

Just some suggestions to help with rhyming. Feel free to toss them! *smile*

This was a lovely poem about -- what sounds like -- a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!

Thanks for sharing!
