A very good poem about a breakup. I liked the 3 lines to a stanza. My only criticism is I felt the repeat of the line with the spilled perfume was used just a little bit too much. Other than that, good free style and artwork to compliment the piece.

Hi Brett!
interesting piece here. I did like it.
I thought it was interesting that you
made every last word in the last stanza
rhyme with one previously.
I would just clean up the lines
a bit so that the reader can understand
its rhythmic cadence a little more.

I like the progression of the last lines in the stanzas, as the meaning of the perfume gets layered and deeper and deeper! You have a typo in the line "Then be with me in the broad daylight", I presume you meant to write "than".
Other than that, it's an excellent piece!

Hello again :)

Beautiful poem about a breakup and the pain of loss of your love. I think the image of the spilled perfume is metaphorical and it represents a love that is gone and all it left behind is the smell of an old memory. Perfume aroma can bring memories to mind in a very vivid way. Good job!

This definitely has the strains & refrains of classic country music and the reader does feel empathy for the speaker. I like the narrative story of this three-sided romance. I am, however, not sure you need to use the refrain of the spilled perfume in every stanza. Perhaps as a chorus every 3-4 stanzas would work.

Very well written poem, why is she spilling her perfume for some one else and not for you? Maybe you done something to hurt her, if you really love her and want her, don't let her go. Fight for her even if it means you must apologize for everything you did not do.

What if she is simply a cheater? Always appreciate your comments and support.

If she is really a cheater, then you should let her go, and stop crying about her, move on there is lots of woman that is not cheaters, but their husbands are cheaters and left them alone for a younger model. Lol
