Oh this is so cute, and so true. What is more tempting than a locked box? I have a friend who took a hacksaw to a locked cabinet of her hubby's. Totally ruined the thing. What she said she found inside--she didn't like. They got a divorce. I enjoyed reading this. Marilyn/BeasPeas

Thanks for your review and coments. A comical ending to your story and my grandsons did not have any better luck when the box was finally opened. A few pieces of old costume jewelry. I drew the line at the chain saw.

A peppy, happy sort of wee poem, AnnieDawn.

There's something irresistible about those locked boxes!

Best wishes for the contest. Don't think I've bumped into you before. Nice to meet you. :)

Thank you for your kind comments. My grandkids had a blast trying to open it and it rattled which made it even more of a challenge.

Hi Annie. Good submission for the Lune. Format and attached picture well reflects your story. A good one at that which tells a whole story in just a few words. I like the 'Shucks' because its so innocent of them never knowing what great good or great evil there is inside. Good luck and cheers.

Thank you so much for kind words in reviewing and making my reviews 14 and not 13 an unlucky number. Just in jest. Honestly though I thank you.

What a fun Lune! I love that you took the picture specifically for the poem, for me it is usually the opposite, I am a very visual person so at times I will look at a picture and the poem will come next. You did an awesome job!

I see the main strength of your Lune poem lying in its aural qualities, that is in the sound, especially of the lat few words 'shucks, I can't pick locks. This also adds rhyme to your poem - not required but adding extra interest here.

Good luck.

There probably was nothing inside anyway. It is nice to see a lune laid out as it should be, either flushed left or right to expose the shape to its best advantage. This is the sort of succinct statement that I am sure these short forms of poetry were desifned for.

Either can I. I wonder if it holds money or important papers. That is a great picture. This is a good poem for this contest. Good luck.

Your lune is in perfect form with the perfect syllable count. I bet the grandchildren had fun trying though:)
