I think this would be difficult to read to a child. I have two grandchildren and this would not be one of my picks. Reincarnation as a plot mechanism is all right but would confuse children. Also I found the use of the quotation marks confusing since not all of the sentences were necessarily spoken by anyone.

This piece was meant to teach a child of age six not two about cruelity weather a bird or a toy.

It all came together in the end when the robin went to heaven and became Vincent. I'd say that he didn't have such a great time as a robin being killed by Adolph and having his head chopped off.
