What a cute puppy--is it a Bichon Frise'? I enjoyed your 5-7-5 senryu and your apt play on the "dog-eat-dog" world. Best wishes in the contest and happy weekend- Joan

Thank you Joan, you too. :)

Senryu are often humerous and this is no exception. They do say that in dog obedience classes its the humans that actually get trained. I believe the art of having an obedient do is to tell it to do what it was going to do of its own accord.

This meets the contest requirements wonderfully with a correct line and syllable count. Poor little thing should have gone into commercial work as it pays better LOL. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

That happens often. Two different crowds as many reviewers never go to the polls and vote.

Yes, sad but true. I signed up to vote so I get notices when there is an open booth.
thank you :)

I saw this darling picture on face book. How anyone could train a dog to do this is beyond me. You successfully used the inspiration to write a perfect senryu. I wonder if they held him to the pole with Felcro.

I like your photo of the cute dog and the senryu topic. Your syllable count is right and I like your last line especially - "it's a dog-eat-dog world." That gives a broader meaning to the poem. Well done.

Yes this one raises a chuckle - this little canine seems to have a very good idea as to how the real world works -interesting reflection on that time-honored adage in the final line

Great job on this poem and well written. I am always in awe at the talent it takes to write one of these small forms. I'm way too wordy. Interesting picture.
Have a great week and God bless, mike.

What a cute picture!
I wonder do they teach dog pole dancing in dog training centres?
Cute picture, cute topic. All the best in the contest.

Thank you Tessa, the senryu is about a dog that had to strip and pole dance to pay for her education. ;)

I dunno about 'obedience class' - it seems THAT dog may have taken pole-dancing classes. ;-)
Maybe, with respect, sub 2nd line 'dog' with 'mutt', as you have three 'dog' in two lines.
Good luck and best wishes, Ray
