I agree with you that all races need to take responsibility for the violence.
I don't think we need more gun laws but to enforce the ones we have. Well done and I wish you success.

You got the story off to a good start and getting this reader attention. Unfortunately you are right in your last sentence and until the gun laws are better enforced, those morning headlines as you wrote will be seen more often than we want. I wish you luck in the contest.

This is a great piece. Shootings of any kind in our society happened way to much. It seems to be that the movie theaters are the soft target of choice.

Nice work.

Hi...

_ Indeed, this needs to stop in the worst way.
_ So sad how our world has become so immune to the reality of killing.
_ It is so glorified on TV so folks think if they don't like something, take a few people out to make their point.
_ Of course there are many other factors too. Just so sad what our world is coming to---sadder yet, no change in sight.
_ Excellent story to bring awareness.
_ Good luck in the contest.

Cheers & Blessings

Well of course this creep chose horror movie fans to victimize. Who better, right? And no movie packs 'em in in massive droves like the latest Creature Feature.

And everyone tries to make the claim that the horror genre is dead or dying.

Hah!

Well done, an idea taken from the headlines of real life. Only none of the latest movie massacres occurred during horror films. In the 2012 shootings at an Aurora movie house, "The Dark Knight Rises" was playing on the big screen...a Batman franchise film (albeit, a twisted version of the Caped Crusader).

In the Lafayette, La. shootings, a comedy film, "The Trainwreck" was the feature film. So, it would be safe to assume based purely on recent events that horror films are some of the safest to attend.

Just sayin'... ;)

Good luck in your contest...~Dean

Finished 2nd, by one vote. But, many people on this site have agreed, and supported, my position. Glad you liked this one. I believe it is all zaniness that needs to stop.

'He had always been a rebellious boy. Full of vim and (vinegar). But, tonight he was going to show them all. I think you meant (vigor). Vinegar is what we British put on our fish and chips.

Good powerful story. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Vim and vinegar is a saying that means along the lines of brash and bold. Glad you enjoyed this one.

Hi and amen to that..I really enjoyed your story because you highlight a real social problem. You told the story very well, with good flow and kept me glued. I suspect a strong contest entry here. Take care and cheers.

I have a mixed opinion. I agree with you to a point. I think there are some cities such as Chicago and Baltimore where the races don't matter. It has just become a matter of killing the other (cops kill blacks/blacks kill cops). I do agree it needs to stop. Your choice of artwork is great. Your writing is stunning because All Lives Matter. You do get your point across very well. Kudos on a job well done. Best wishes in the contest.

It ends when a certain culture behaves themselves and obeys the law of the land. Created by responsible people. All lives matter not just black or white. Best wishes to you in the contest.

Who is really to blame?
Modern Day Plight

I like your flash fiction story about black males being killed by white police men. This is a terrible crime and it must stop. Good job getting all the words in.
