I love the picture. I love the poem. You are so right. No money, no friends. Most of the homeless did not start out that way. Most had decent lives before something took it away. We tend to blame the homeless for their won plight. Great work.

Yeah, that's why it's best to make everyone believe that you're poor and live a pauper's life. That way, the friends you'll have will truly be your friends because of who you are and not just for what you have. If I were rich, I guaran-damn-tee you I wouldn't let anyone know.

Hi Ine,

This is a nicely written poem that is interesting, but also sad. It's a shame that when a person is rich friends are always around you, but if all your money is used up the friends disappear. How terrible. It's to bad they don't stick around with him and give him the help he's always given to them.

Money can't buy happiness but it can buy friends. They are not friends when they have been bought. You earn real friends by being a friend. Love is the glue that holds friends together.

It's hard to rate this post. As a song lyric really it needs music to come alive. And I don't quite agree with the sentiment either, that you can only have friends when you have money. What kind of friends are these?
A couple things you may want to correct:
- he mumbles to himself
- ? after why
-when he lost all and had nothing (no comma in the middle)

It's such a sad case of reality, money does buy people friends in some cases but your true friends are those who stick by you no matter what. A well written piece, robina, I liked the picture you painted of the man and you certainly built up a lot of emotion around him.
