This Senryu raises a much -needed chuckle in our money and credit card obsessed world - and how often we forget to remember the essence 'the best things in life are free'- I have a doorstopper with just those words inscribed lest I forget lol !

I nice way to fool yourself--dream on! I enjoyed your 5-7-5 senryu about our human emotions in dealing with credit cards. You added the perfect picture too. Best wishes in the contest and happy Sunday- Joan

It feels free until the bills come in and it's maxed out. Good wording and perfect senryu. This describes the emotion of elation when one is recklessly shopping.

Yeah, sometimes you gotta pray you've got enough in your account to cover your debts, especially if you've run up BIG charges on your credit card (or cards!).
The card may not cost you a dime. But whoa! Those damn interest rates and finance charges can sometimes be a b!tch!
Best of luck to you in the contest. ;)

Ha ha...Amen to this. If we die, guess we better make sure we at least drive up the credit. I can see how credit cards are divine which doesn't necessarily mean divine as good, but divine as evil..heh heh. Good luck in the contest. Cheers.

Interesting take on my senryu but it is not what I intended. The best things in life are free so you use God's credit card, as in no money. Thank you for the review. :)

Well, until..the government types in "In god we trust" on credit cards, I'm sticking to cash! LoL

Sarcastically clever way to say there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Hey, even fanstory contests and promotion cost $s as well. :-)
Good luck and best wishes, Ray

It was quite the selection of words that keeps you thinking...do you mean that as literal or maybe in another sense... Anyhow great job on putting it together.

God's credit card is not cash and debt, everything that doesn't cost money, like a sunrise, or love, or happiness
-
Oh, God was not included on the poem so I really hoped you meant it like you did...

Oh yeah, the best things in life are really free! But only because somebody else paid for it! The gift of salvation is free to those who accept it. Great job. Best to you in the contest.
Blessings,
Anabella

I read through this spiritual Senryu,
The emotions I got from the image... joy, a warmth in recognizing that even if you are financially low on funds,... that happiness is attainable. The last line did a good job of redirecting the emotions towards a spiritual avenue, using a strong image word of 'divine'. I found it interesting that it came in the form of credit cards... (Liked the visual of the money symbol in the wording too) Though credit cards also make you think of paying back as well. Paying back on something that is free makes me think that a divine credit card doesn't involve money, but maybe something of more value.

This is a very good senryu
The syllables are exact
It has the human element and
The humor is divine
Now, where can I get one of those "divine"credit cards
that pay for themselves
Very good presentation and
Very good job
Good luck in the contest
