This five-seven-five about winter, Frozen Puddle Game, has the proper syllable count and a great memory of childhood. Busting those frozen puddles. Nice.

This is clever, interesting and true. I like the photo you chose. It reminds me of my younger grandson who does this all the time before leaving for school. Now his shoes and sox are wet and he's miserable. Good job.

You've written a very nice winter 5-7-5, mystery poet. It reminded me of my childhood (jumping on the thin ice), as well as the fun of our two sons as children (Colorado natives).
I particularly like your last line (satori) - very clever play on words: "child's ice escapades."
This is a fine entry for the contest. Best of luck! Alana

Every child who comes in contact with a puddle of water cannot seam to resist the urge to jump in. Why, heaven only knows. Great job with this entry and the picture is perfect.

This meets the contest requirements with a correct line and syllable count. Clever play on the ice show theme in the last line. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

This so well expresses the simple joys and wonder of childhood. As we age, we fear breaking a hip. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie.

YES! I remember playing the frozen puddle game as a child...sometimes the puddle was so frozen, I slipped into the snow:) I love your last line about child's ice escapades, very clever and a great childhood memory.
Best of luck,

You have kept the requirements for
syllable count in three lines while
presenting a clear picture of a child
wanting to test the ice to see if it
breaks or whatever else might occur.
Nice entry for the contest.
