LOL... yes it is! And did you see there is a new one coming out?
Hi Sister Gypsy...
In case you think you're having flashbacks...
lol, you're not. ;)
I'm actually doing a Christmas Gift for my fans and those who
I come across who review me... I'm going in to their portfolios and
finding a poem or prose that just needs one more review to be nudged over
into Recognized Status or All Time Best... :)
It's my Thank you for all your support and just a way to say... Happy Holidays...
It doesn't cost me anything but time... ;)
I'm hoping it catches on and other members pay it forward.
That being said....
I'm happy to take this piece over into the Recognized status it deserves.. it's also one of my FAVORITE Series EVER... (i'm still crazy about Harrison Ford... ) and I go around doing wookie sounds... ( a little known fact about me!) LOL
Love you Sister Gypsy... Have an awesome holiday

Thank you sweet Sister Cat. I don't remember writing this senryu LOL Thank you for the Christmas present. I don't understand how it work. I am having one of those days. ((((((loveyou))))))

OMG... what a horrible senryu! I forgot I wrote this. Some things are very hidden in the bottom of the portfolio LOL
-
LOLOL... 15 reviews makes a work "recognized'... 26 makes it "All Time Best"... if I go through someone's portfolio, and I see they have 14, like this one, I know that MY review will allow it to receive that "Recognized" status... or... if it has 25... my review will give it 26, then it's "All Time Best"... see? the magic numbers here are 2's and 6's... 2 6-star ratings on a poem with 26 reviews will move you up more quickly than 6 sixes on a poem with 15 reviews. ;) that's the secret of moving up... getting your work to ATB status... with at least two sixes... more is better, but at least two. ;) because the highest and the lowest are thrown out. see? ;)
Love you
Cat

I got it now LOL I'm slow today. Thank you for the pretty recognize award. You are very kind :) I will have to think about something I can do for you. mmmhhhh......
-
Thank you sweetie. I love star wars. I plan to see the new one when it comes out. I got all the old star war movies on netflix and I watched them in order, so the story makes more sense. I like that you go around making star war noises in your house LOL that is so cute. I love hand solo, Harrison Ford is giong to be in the new movie, I am not sure if is an actual role or a cameo but it should be fun.

I saw him on TV tonight... I think it's a REAL role... I can't wait to see it. ;)
Hugs

A-h-h-h-h, yes. The shocking revelation uttered by Darth Vader that stunned sci-fi geeks the world over...
"Luke...I am your fa-ther." Well, I happened to be one of those self-proclaimed science fiction nerds in attendance as those words were spoken. My jaw dropped--my chin hit the floor. How could one so evil be the father of one who perpetually fought on the side of justice, and good?
A war movie, though? Yeah, with the rebel forces mounting a surprise assault on the Empire's Death Star in their X-Wing fighters, I could how see that conclusion might be arrived at.
Good luck to you in the contest, my friend. ;)

Thank you Dean, I am one of those nerds too. :) You are the second one to be uncertain about the title, but to me, star wars is a war movie. Although, it is so much more than just a war movie. But I was thinking ~the eternal war~good vs evil...... the Force against Evil.... you know?
I can't wait to see ~ Star Wars: The Force Awakens

You are more than welcome, Gypsy.
I've got that on my "to-do" list also--to go see that movie, I mean. I love Star Wars films but always hated Star Trek.
Go figure...:)

I agree. We all like Luke come to recognize and face our heritage as members of the human race. The best movie ever--an initiation story of the highest caliber.

Hi Mystery author, this is an excellent entry for this particular competition, I took my son to see this movie about thirty years ago, great words, not sure if you should have spelt thirteen though. I wish you the best of luck in the contest my friend.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly with a spot on line and syllable count. I thought you did a great job of summarizing Star Wars and it was very creative using a pivotal line from the movie as the satori. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Liked this, though not 100% it really reviews a film.
Also, the pedantic sci-fi nerd that I am is concerned that Alderaan's destruction and Vader's revelation to Luke are in different films... so I'm not certain that it's a review of a film as much as a review of the original trilogy. Okay - it's only the image that references Alderaan, but still...
But, having said that, also as a sic-fi nerd, I enjoyed it. :)
Good luck in the contest.
Cheers,
JD

A lot of fans will agree with you that Star Wars tops them all. I think all the modern mythology lets so many people relate to it.
Excellent review--concise, easy to relate to and understand, and to the point. Good luck in the contest.

Comment from LIJ Red
The artwork has made a three/two/seven/five of this poem. I thought Haiku were nature poems, far removed from cinema, which is utterly unnatural. Shows how little I know. Besides I liked the other movie, with Leia in chains...aren't you glad I am no judge?

Hello LiJRed, Haiku deals with nature, this is a senryu, it deals with people and it is usually humorous. the syllable count is 5/7/5, I am not sure what you mean with the 3/2/7/5.
Thank you for the review.

Yes, it is. I'm a big Star Wars fan.
Your 5/7/5 has perfect syllable count and does review the movie, even pulling out a famous quote by Darth Vader.
Best of luck in the contest with this positive review of the movie.
