I'm so pleased you liked this. I actually set my jaw and told my self, "I'm going to write something worthwhile in this form if it kills me!" Hahaha. I took four years of Latin in high school. It is something one doesn't realize the value of till much later. I owe my vocabulary and understanding of language to Mrs. Vernalis and high school Latin. Amo, amas, amat... mikey

Yes, my daughter tells her Latin teachers all the time that they saved her from uncertain tumultuous times. And I believe she's correct. It's always a good thing to find a place to belong. ;)

I like the imagery. It really sells the point that knowledge is power and that it creates a bridge to the future. That's very hard to do with such limiting criteria. You should be proud.

Very good, Mikey. These cute little poems really do teach us all about rhythm and internal rhymes, as that would be an eight beat line.

It's tough to inject much meaning into such a short form, but you've done a good job with that--and also, of course, with meeting the 1-6-1 syllable requirements and the end rhymes. The message of the poem is quite important in today's information driven world. Nice job. Good luck in the contest!
