I enjoyed reading your haiku-it follows the 5-7-5 three lines format. it's focused on a brief moment in time, evokes colorful images and it is written in present tense.

'Measures' is an interesting choice of word for that second line as the previously lazy river sees the necessity for change in the form of the narrow canyon. The result, of course, is the frenetic race to the sea.
