Oh please... don't do it.
Keep away from the light.
:(
Ever watch the show Weeds? The theme is priceless:
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky,
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
And the people in the houses
All went to the university,
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and lawyers,
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.
And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
yeah... sounds like the same kind of thing you've going on there.
conspiracy...
maybe.
;)
I don't suppose you subscribe to sarcasm as a rule?
nah...
maybe as a law?
:)
yeah, actually my middle initial is "S"... (for sarcasm)
yeah.. true story.

LOL you're cracking me up. I've never heard of "weeds", but I love the theme.

Truly, you've never heard of the TV Show, WEEDS... omg... it's awesome. It played for nine or eleven seasons here... It's so f*cking funny! This woman is modern day suburbia, and her husband dies and she has two sons to raise, and so she does the only thing she can.... she becomes a drug dealer. it's frickin hilarious. And sexy and hot and so damn funny. Do you get Netflix over there? It's on there...
-
WE do, I don't.... I'm too cheap to pay for satellite. I get whatever's on out 40 or so channels of free to air crap :) Seriously, cable and satellite TV haven't really been worth it over the years.
-
Netflix, get it on your computer... go to netflix.com... pay $8... and you get unlimited TV shows.... you can watch tv series that have played in the past and that are playing now... some are priceless.. like Weeds. omg. If I thought your DVD player would play my DVD's, I'd send them to you, but my luck yours wouldn't play this region's. You'll laugh so hard. I only watch tv when I'm not creating... if i'm lucky, i'll never turn it on again. *wink*
yeah, if only.
lol
-
I'll have to check it out. It might only be $8 month, but it could end up costing me hundreds in internet downloads... I'm on 150 GB, then the costs soar.
-
yikes... but even if you're on WIFI? really? nah... really? that sucks
go to Starbucks and download there. lol

Amen. I really love this. Unfortunately it is way too true. Well said and worth repeating. Thanks for the smile, you've got my vote.

This meets the contest requirements nicely with a spot on line and syllable count. You deliver a thought provoking piece that says much about peer pressure. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you for sharing it.

Good poem that speaks so well
The reality all to often held
For too many follow without a thought
Perhaps that is why we are so often lost

Comment from Jeanie Mercer
This 2-10-2 makes an excellent point about joining in with the thinking of "the herd." Interesting note about the pack instinct. Good luck in the contest, Jeanie Mercer

I'm grateful your kind words. I decided (at the last minute, obviously I was doing this as you were commenting) to add a photo, and be a little more specific in my comment, but the poem itself remains unchanged. Thanks again :-)
