Oh, Dean, this is lovely and I'm sure Brooke will love it. Not only because she had an affinity for dandelions but It would make such a wonderful counting book for children. The imagery is terrific as is the meter and rhyme.

Simply put, I loved this poem!
It is so well done! Beautiful . Such a creative idea to imagine where each of the little seeds go! I am so thankful for poems that teach me how to appreciate the little things, not to mention how to write!

The lady who inspired this poem, Brooke Baldwin (adewpearl) was an instructor here and the number 1 poet for at least ten years in a row.
She taught me so much and I have tried to follow her example by paying it forward.
Thanks so much for your kind review, Tina.

You are welcome! Its such a sweet thing,to pay tribute to her contribution to your learning!
random, but...just realized the word contribution had "tribute" in it, lol.
Comment from Sarah B Sullivan
Wonderful energy, creativity, and lightness. The poem spreads itself out and anchors itself in so many places, just as dandelions are able to do. The imagery is great, too.

I don't know if you were here when adewpearl, or Brooke Baldwin, was the number one poet for like ten years running, Sarah.
There was nothing she loved more than her grandson, Sawyer, but one thing came close.
Her love of dandelions and countdown poems.
I dedicated this one to her. She is sorely missed by those of us who knew and loved her.
Thanks for reviewing.

Dear Dean, I love to read your work. This one has already received great praise, but I will add my own. It is clever and reverent at the same time.

This is a very sweet poem you have penned. I love dandelions a lot. I love looking at them. I used to love blowing the white off them and watching them go. Great job. Teri

Brooke (adewpearl) is a very talented poet and sweet lady. She was also a beloved member of this site for many years, holding the number 1 poet's spot for as long as I can remember, Teri.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting on this poem written in her honor.

What a lovely tribute to a friend. The flow of the poem as the blowing of the dandelions in the wind was tender as I remember the dandelions journey every childhood spring. All the best and God Bless

Thank you writeapoem. I appreciate your comments.
Brooke Baldwin's presence is dearly missed around here. She's been a FanStory member since the very beginning.

So darling. Perfect as a nursery rhyme for children or adults. Animated flower blowing in the wind and vivid descriptive alliterations paint snappy bouncy adventures of this dandelion.liberty justice

Thank you for digging this one up out of the discard heap and offering your opinions on it, LJ. This was written for a dear long-time member here who has been sick as of late in the hopes of cheering her up. Brooke Baldwin (adewpearl) taught many poetry classes here and was the number one ranked poet for many years in a row. Her light hearted spirit and wonderful poems touched everyone that knew her, and she is still sorely missed.
I very much appreciate your kind review.

This is a well done counting poem that honors Brooke. It shows that we like her children's poems, her words of encouragement and her knowledge of the art.
We all want her back again. It also reminds us of her favorite weed.
Keep writing

Hi Deano,
as I said, this is one of my most favorite poetry forms that Brooke creates... and you my friend, have kept the same level of intensity to the creation of magical tones to scatter the seeds of your own flavoured counting poem.
Your presentation... as usual, is an outstanding representation of the quality you deliver... not only with clever-thoughtful word combinations and magic imagery, but the visual you add that allows your class to shine though, always impresses, as I'm sure Brooke will hold the same impression... or should I say would have? As I am a bit behind the times... no matter Brother, you're a class act... truly enjoyed reading the genius of your craft.
With our thoughts we create,
a sprinkling of healing love,
James.

Thanks for your kind compliments, James. That is very thoughtful of you to say, my friend. You're a class act yourself.
I really wanted to put a smile on Brooke's face as she read this, and I sincerely hope I was able to accomplish that. I have no way of knowing if she's actually had an opportunity to read any or all of the many lovely poems which have been dedicated to her, in her honor (and justifiably so, I might add), but I hope that when she does, their healing power and love comes through for her.
Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment on my humble offering. I sincerely appreciate your very complimentary review.
All my best, James...~Dean

You just proved my point... all class Brother!
I'm sure knowing Brooke, if she is able, she would have read every last poem, or a very least got someone to read all the poems to her... and yours is a 'corka' ...intent is everything.
James.

Thank you, Sir James. You're absolutely right, intent is the most important thing of all. :}
