This is a really lovely haiku. I love the image of wilted wildflowers with a pollen dusted kiss. It is so unique and creative. Little boys do the most amazing things to please us, don't they? I have to share a little story. I always write a piece before reading any other contest entries. I did that for this contest, and after working on it quite a bit, posted it. Mine was titled "haiku (wilted wildflowers)". Then, I saw your entry and went "OOOPS!" and went back to the drawing board. So, I have an extra affinity for your lovely piece. Spectacular imagery in the pollen-dusted kiss--so many distinct senses represented there. That, rather than the flowers, is the real gift here--the flowers are just a vehicle. A very tender haiku moment.

This was gorgeous, and moved me to tears. Awesome image of wildflowers "with a pollen dusted kiss" from a little boy to his mom. Fantastic imagery and photo.
