Hi there,
This was a well written and effective piece of writing. Personally I dislike the religious undertones and felt that the story did not need them, but that is the writer's prerogative.
Very effective in getting the emotion across and the dialogue both internal and external were well used.

Putting religious undertones in my stories is not my norm, but having been hit with tragedy after tragedy lately, I guess my inner self expressed itself. You certainly haven't lost your touch my Sis. this short story grasped my attention from beginning to end, holding me on tender hooks not knowing how it was going to pan out.. as I hung onto every new line waiting and hoping things would be for the best. a beautiful and gentle afterthought followed as Jamie and his Mum shared their moment of thankfulness .. here's hoping for the best results in the competition.. luv and hugs and welcome back to writing.. little sis xoxox

A real fireworks explosion from my Sis....Glad the Land of Oz found pleasure in my writing....This is my third story (how dare you miss Stay Safe lol) in a matter of days. Flash fiction isn't my style but it's a great way to get back into the swing of things especially since my time is limited. It feels good to get the ole cobwebs brushed out and the fingers dancing on the keyboard again. Your encouragement goes well past the usual standard but I would expect no less from my Sis. Charlie, it's so nice to hear from you and I appreciate your comments. Been out of the writing saddle for quite a while, dealing with life and it's pitfalls. Life certainly does have a way of playing with our emotions.....Taking time for myself is rare, but I found pleasure in writing again and especially in kind words from friends. Have a great day!

Hello Miss Cookie....so nice of you to stop by and read my post. Yes, it's been a long while since I've visited. Tragedy after tragedy has been striking this family and finding time for myself and writing got put to the side. It was relaxing and fun to once again sit down at the keyboard and brush the cobwebs out of my mind. You don't corner the market on that slow recall...my mind isn't as quick as it use to be either..LOL.
