Way to go SANKEY! Well done. I like your rhyming scheme and, of course, the message is meaningful and strikes a chord. I like your choice of words in each verse. They run very smoothly into the next verse. Nice!

Thanks mate. Sorry no rewards for ya. Nice of you to come along. Need to get back to writing myself. Been busy with other stuff. Might write about that too.

Nice tribute to Jonathan Crombie. I did not know him or the program. He certainly kept his age.
I like the way you got busy and wrote on the day or near day he passed away. The relevance adds appeal.

So sorry, which your poem tells that Jonathan Crombie, who I believe is a native Australian actor, & that of his passing....And, too, he will be truly missed......I haven't viewed any of this series of Annie of Green Gables... Though am sure if it was anything like the novel, it was a very worthwhile entertainment.
Thanks so Much for Sharing!.....Caressa_08

Thanks Sis. Yeah I think you would have known LMMontgomery had some fact in her fiction. She married a Presbyterian Minister, can't say for sure she was a believer. Guess we will find out in Glory, ha. We loved all of the AOGG series. Thanks for coming by. Ttyl. Lord bless.

I visited the church where she played the organ on Sundays and finally married the minister. Prince Edward Island is a beautiful place.

Hey we were gonna visit PEI in 2000 but as we mentioned in the holiday on Tootsie55 we could not get our friend to go with us so we drove to Western Australia instead. She mentions "old Father Chiniquy that became a proestant" in one of her AOGG novels and there was a Charles Chiniquy that did leave the Catholic Church, and was a big force for temperance, in the protestant church. He up set a lot of catholic Bishops even before he left the RCC due to his stand on Temperance. He had seen the result of alcoholism on many of the parishioners and it is probably true a lot of Bishops also owned Taverns and stuff. They would have had more control over their flock as well if they had them drunk half the time. I can point you to some good books written by Charles Chiniquy if interested. Lord Bless.

Sankey, This is wonderful tribute poem. I'm sorry to say I'm not familiar with this actor, but the loss of someone at his age is tragic to say the least. Well done and thank you for sharing it. Judy

Hi Judy, appreciate your review. Anne of Green Gables was a great series of books mostly aimed at young people but lived by all ages. As I indicated in my tribute Gilbert Blythe, played by Jonathan Crombie was a major part in the books and the tv mini series. Good wholesome entertainment. Thanks again.

Good poem about this man, also a good picture of the couple. Is it really him in the picture or someone else? Good word flow, and rhyming as you give credit to this man for his accomplishments.

These days there seem to be a lot of actors that die. If they go so young it is quite a tragedy. This is a fitting tribute. Good job.
Take care.

Thanks Christelle for coming by. We all loved AOGG and Jonathan was one of it's best actors. Does this mean there is another chapter of your current story up for review? See you around.

A fine tribute to the actor. Too bad he had to die at such a young age. I saw "Anne of Green Gables" as a stage play but not as a movie. Excellent rhyme and wording in this. It is wonderful that performances like Jonathan Crombie's can be enjoyed for generations thanks to DVD and TV movie channels. judi

Thanks Sis good hearing from you. Amazed at the number who have no idea who he was ha! My only disappointment is NO SUBTITLES on the DVD's!
-
Hi, Sankey. You're welcome. Isn't there a special service where you can get the subtitles? judi
-
Well for some time subtitles were done in Closed Captions in USA/ Canada but sometimes only for Region 1. Things are getting better and more movies are being done in "All Region" so if they come with subtitles they are good "Down Under" as well.
-
Interesting. Hope you can soon get films with the subtitles as needed. judi
-
that allowed playing of the 2 regions ok. That unfortunately did no extend to Subtitles sadly.

I loved Anne of Green Gables. I wonder how he died, illness or accident? This is a thoughtful tribute to a fine actor, he will be missed.

Thanks Sis I put a link to the article a friend ran on Face book yesterday. He died from what we call a Cerebral haemmorage. Bleeding in he brain. We loved AOGG I know I have talked with you about LM Montgomery and how she had a lot of fact in her fictional AOGG books.

This is a great tribute to a man who died very young indeed. I can't say that I knew the man and his work well, but I did watch Anne of Green Gables. It was a long time ago. This is sad to see somebody die so young.

Thanks Bro appreciate you coming by. I am surprised at the number of Americans especially who are unaware of Jonathan's work. He was Canadian. We loved AOGG. Thanks again.
