A gift in disguise is a great use of words that reminds us that God does give us gifts. I like the image of your son as an angel. You have a strong poetic beat in your words, I can hear this poem being read out loud.

Beautiful and heart felt piece. You bring back the total helpless, directionless, despair I lived at my mother's passing. And yes it was God who took my heart in hand and got me through.

It's funny that you talked about God in your story as the nurse at the scene{she liver there} called me about three hours later [knowing jay would die} and said...
"Jason felt nothing g because God wrapped His arms around Jay and wanted him home!"
"Thanks and sorry about your mom I lost mine the Christmas of 2012.

Hi Ricky1024
I doubt one can ever dry those manly tears when one loses a beloved child. There can be no greater pain, and I note that you, having found faith, must have appreciated how the Father felt as He watched His Son hang on that cross.
Very good poem, I note originally written by your son.

I've added that in other poems that Jason would write and I truly believe my writing GIFT {from tragedy} is a Gift from God and Jason!
Thanks for your time Patrick honoring an Angel.
God bless you and yours...
