Technology is great. So is this poem. Good visual imagery. Good comparisons. Nice work. I remember you taking that Vegas vacation. Nice photograph. I'm going there in August. I'll spend a day at the Star Trek Convention. Then, sightseeing and a show or something.

Whether we love it or hate we must acknowledge that technology does produce some modern marvels.
Usually we take so many of these things for granted so I like your expression of appreciation.
Usually it is not the image which comes to mind when thinking of the desert.

Thanks Shirley. Yes, technology is amazing. It took us to the moon.

It is probably for worse, my friend. It is happening all over the DAMN world--building skyscrapers and men's monstrosities on the nature that God created. Well done, Tom.

Nice use of 'dam' there. A very effective little piece. Another double entende that I pick up here is 'gambling' or perhaps gambolling. Am I right or was that one unintentional?

Los Angeles, although not a gambling mecca exists because of the engineering ability to transfer water to the desert. Your photograph and words capture the "spectacle...For better or worse"! I admired your rhymes as well. Cheers- Joan

Well, I would definitely have to say for worse. The Colorado and aquifers drained to create a city where really, none should thrive. We are running out of resources for fresh water, and there are numerous fountains in the desert, 100's of thousands of gallons gone - probably more to that- due to evaporation alone. Crazy!
