Your poem related to me so well. Dieting can let us look nicer in clothes, but the bits that show, are sagging and wrinkled! So not fair! Really good poem, my friend. xsx sandra.

A free verse self-assessment while seeing the world through a new set of glasses, i chuckled at your self-deprecating humor, although that for you its no laughing matter. In fact, my wife had stomach surgery and lost over 100 pounds. She has the same issue that you have.

I love the picture. I love the poem. New glasses are not needed when we look at our self. We see what time has done to us. Most people are fairly happy with it. Great work.

Hi Ine - a truthful free verse on how you see yourself now that you have new glasses. The truth always pays in the end, LOL. I know that Robert loves you whatever. Warm regards Dorothy x

Interesting insight into self image. I thought you expressed this very well. There is an innate harsh critique of oneself that most of us employ.
If honest, we could see we're made imperfect, which is just right.

G'day Ine. That is another great little piece mate. I now have 3 sets of eye glasses and when that happens I know that age is catching up with me. I am happy that you can see your beauty now. Cheers Fez

Well what is most beautiful about you, is your total honesty and great
spirit, no matter the ailments or flaws of mortal body. You need no
mirrors to remind you of that, it is seen with or without them.
Congrats on new glasses, they look cool! Thanks for sharing..
Blessings, Ronni

Thank you for sharing this honest and sincere poem. Most of us lose weight when we have health problems. Good times will come in the summer. Let's keep positive.

I recently got new glasses too, and there are "not as many flaws as before". I liked your coinage of "look-throughs". In contrast, I haven't lost weight and have big feet! Best wishes with the new specs- Joan
