A Tribute To Mom (Maggaw)

The death of a loved one is very depressing at any age.

A very fine tribute to Mom. You have been lucky to have such a giving, loving mother, so many do not. The best way you can honor her now is to try to be the same person she was. I know this, from my own experience: she is near. Keep your mind and senses awake and look for signs. Think back to what she would do when you face dilemmas of your own. It is true, nothing is owed to you, so use your time well. Make a difference with friends and family, wildlife and our natural resources.

In my opinion, a beautifully written sentiment, honoring the love of a child for a parent - the memory is lasting and forever shapes our paths, as the poet so elegantly describes...

As a literary piece, I find no fault...but I am hardly a comma commie. What I do like is the emotion that is so aptly expressed. There is no doubt at the end of the poem the reader feels that love that was there. Very good and worthy of a lasting tribute.

Your poem is a lovely tribute to your mother, Quoiky. Don't you hope that somehow she is seeing what you've written?

Your abcb rhyming is well done, and your words flow with a great rhyme and rhythm. You've used fine imagery throughout to tell your story. The final stanza is my favorite:

"We love you, mom. Now and forever.
Even though we still often cry
We're lucky to have loved and been loved by you
It's so hard to say goodbye."

This is a strong entry for the contest. Best of luck! Alana

This is a very strong emotional tribute to your mother. There is no one in our lives that affects us like "mom."
Your poem describes her as a loving, caring and helpful person and it's perfectly rhymed. Very well done. Bill

As I can read from your words, your mom who must have been a special lady. Losing a loved one is always hard, no matter how old they are. Take courage and strength! Remember the good times you had!

Kind regards

Sarah

A great tribute to your mom who as you say was the rock of the family. Mothers are very important in the lives of their children and those who do a terrific job are like the Bible say a virtuous woman whose children call her blessed
Good use of some Rhyme

As a feeling poems this is a winner. You certainly express deep feelings and do it well. Are there ways you could communicate to your mother that might help fill the void? For each of us to discover I guess.

One point, is this a sentence? Seems like a sentence fragment:

As each drop of life slowly trickles out
And the stage quietly fades to black
When death is silent and darkness lingers
And life offers no passage back.

What ever it is it's about my favorite stanza.

Thanks for the feelings.
