This was an interesting look into your personal world. I think I would have given this piece a higher rating if you had put something a little more unusual into it. Did the phone ring in the middle of this, and you dropped it trying to reach it and also continue with the project? Did your absolutely adorable puppy run up, needing to go out, and stop all progress for a few minutes? Overall, I commend you for offering us this brief window on your world, and I also commend you for your forward-looking attitude that keeps you writing. I just might have wished for a TEENSY bit more drama in this one. Just a suggestion, humbly offered.

Sorry can't make dramas out of day to day stuff did I label it wrong? Doesn't matter but I did think 4 was for errors. Spags etc...I don't even give 4's for heaps of reading I do full of spags. Just saying no matter.

Good short story and good picture. Yes keeping the tires on everything pumped up is a very needed task to be done regular. Nothing worse than low tires when you want to move, and its hard with flat tires.

G'day folks. WOOHOO! I have my connection at long last. That sounds like a chore and a half with all of that rubber to maintain. Those little compressors are good, I used them for years on my travelling around the country. Cheers and get on with the next chore LOL. Fez

Life has a certain amount of just plain maintenance. I agree with your seeking to find a way to do this at home. We feel so much better not having to take thing in to a business or asking for assistance from someone. This was a great plan. Does it take several hours to complete it all?

Thanks for the great review. Think I am gonna write more rambles people seem to like the insight into "us". No only about a half hour or so. Can't take too long as the car is idling, the whole time.

Thanks Brooke dunno if I n=knew your monicre before. I have known you pretty my entire time on FS which will be 2 years in July. Will get to the spags thanks. People are liking my rambles might do some more. If you have not seen my wife's stories about travels we have done in Australia check out Tootsie55. She (Louise) writes the stories except for Chapters 1 and 3 that I did and I proofread and put them up for her. I suggest starting at the beginning if interested helps understand our disposition but I guess mentioning the wheelchairs gives you an idea.

Hello Geoff,
A great reminder for us to pay attention to our tires (tyres down under). I have never heard of a six week cycle but I guess you really can't check them enough. You enjoy writing mate, how is it you don't get into one of the many contests on this site. My daughter has a degree in journalism and has a wonderful gift of wit. I had hoped in buying her a membership with the seed of contest prompts she would get back to creative writing but with two small children there is a time issue.

Six week cycle for us as we don't use the car a whole lot. Also we tune it in with our podiatry visits for our human tyres ( our feet).Yes children and time is the issue we are not blessed with kiddies or they would have been grown by now hehe after 28 years of marriage. I did try the comps and I should have a go again I appreciate the encouragement. Be looking for more Watson manor to read later after we get back from physio and shopping. Thanks for the great review mate.

You are something to tackle all that stuff yourself. Our car goes to the service department regularly and we have all that stuff taken care of. It sounds like you have a lot of stuff to pump up. I can understand why you do it yourself, though. Very interesting and well written. I see that you get Louise to do her share, too. Picture helps reder understand what you're talking about. judi

Thanks for your comments. Louise enjoys "hands on" stuff. Might run some other stories in this ramble 'series' hehe. Sadly people have no idea except on Face book, how independent my wife still is, even in her more restricted mobility. Maybe that is a chapter for these rambles. Watch for more, appreciate the encouragement!

That sure is a lot of air pumping to do. I am one of those people that just ask the petrol attendant to check the tires while I fill up the gas tank. Interesting and well done.
Have a great day.
Christelle.

Hi Sankey,

Sounds like quite a task and very sensible doing the whole check at home. Just one thing I would be cautious of though - the lighter plug may not be rated to take the amperage your compressor needs. That may be why the fuse blew on your friend's car. Uprating the fuse may simply cause the wiring to overheat and that could burn out your car. I've seen a few cases where this has happened because of overheated wiring.

My suggestion would be to get a plug in kit so you can run the compressor off the mains. You'll need a power pack to step the voltage down to 6 volt and the correct amperage. The compressor supplier should be able to provide one.

Patrick

Thanks for that. We have blown a fuse or two but only when trying to run the compressor without having the motor running. I will make enquiries though thanks.

Hi, Geoff,

Sounds as if you have fun. Tom does the same to our cars every few weeks as well.

I was a good girl the other day and took our Pilot for an oil change. Imagine, I did manual labor----well, sort of. (*<*) Hey, I had to turn the key in the ignition. That should count for something.

Our Toyota has nitrogen in the tires, so we have to take it to the dealer so they can do what they gotta do. Tom checks them first, so we only take it when we know it needs doing.

Very nice place --- they serve donuts and coffee. Can't bet that. (*<*)

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jax (*:*)
