Outstanding project and I wish you limitless success once you take it beyond FanStory. I think having three unique answers to the questions is brilliant, as that's life.

I agree the coach needs to offer a counterattack. Not only for his reputation, but for the accusations against true molesters and having the victims believed. Regarding the bathroom, she may change her mind later, but now her desire to have privacy on the toilet should be respected. Brushing teeth, doing her hair is one thing, but some people need privacy while sitting there grunting. As far as the wife, she needs to back off. Her husband and his grandson should be the only ones to make any changes they want in their relationship.

Best wishes to you three as you pursue your project into the future. It's a grand undertaking for sure.
Smiles,
Indy :-)

This sounds pretty good. I read similar column in our Contra Costa Times entitled
"Dear Amy," which I think is circulated in many parts of the United States. The subject is varied and mostly problems on family affairs, but deals on many questions and aspecs of life. My sincerest congratulations.

Thanks so much, especially for the stars. The ladies love glitter. Watch for next week's column posted by Smurphgirlsash.

Yes, indeed. The many aspects of life dealing with philosophy interest me.

Tres or dos Amigas--
This is a terrific idea. I had no idea it was "serious" until the end. I think the "funnier" the responses the better but if it's a serious effort then it takes some serious replies.

Was a case nearby of a football coach who was caught with (totally innocent) nude pictures of his little kids in the swimming pool, at a nearby State U. How he was caught I don't know. He was fired, took the University to court, got his job back. I think his team did very well in the nationals this year so this sounds more like following the Hooker's advice?

Once again I am completely impressed by the technical aspect of this posting - the writing is flawless, and the various opinions offered, excellent advice.

But aside from that, what you ladies choose to present (from what's been submitted) is wonderful. This week's column is on topics far more serious than last week's, but still riveting, and as far as I'm concerned, could prove invaluable to someone experiencing circumstances that are similar.

I can't imagine a better use of creative writing than this - while these stories are no doubt 'invented' by members here, using a writing site to test this column is brilliant, IMO.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating - there are many ways writing is used globally - speech-writing, copy-writing, the writing of textbooks for schools, technical writing (something as simple as instructions on how to use our fire extinguishers, for example) - why WOULDN'T a member use this valuable tool?

OUTSTANDING.

The cheers are still echoing in my ears. Thanks so much for the high praise and the stars. It is entirely possible the questions that come to us are invented by writers perhaps testing out mettle, but we're treating each at face value and offering opinions to match.

Wonderful dry run. The opinions shared are broad and cover different views for items that we have or, heaven forbid, may to face in life. You all have done a service to giving real answers to real questions.

Sorry, but it is never better to err on the side of caution when the reputation, social standing and financial means of making a living are tainted by the lies. Dear Librarian, you need to get out into the real work more and what is really going on. I was abused as a child and know what I am talking about. Not everyone lives in your rose colored world. Many, like me had to claw their way out of the gutter to get a fighting chance in the real world. Dear Cynic, I see where you are coming from, while I don't completely agree you do have the strength of a bull and I admire that. As far as the bathroom goes, don't get a lock unless you have a second bathroom...it could get real messy.

Wish I could walk down the block with you and have a breakfast burrito, but alas it seems that my feet have fused into an iceberg and I am turning into the coldest broad you'll ever meet.

Your gentle and kind words actually melted one digit. Thanks so much for your understanding and support!

The letters submitted are great--really varied and reflective of real-world issues. My own family has encountered two of these circumstances, to some degree. When we traveled to Sweden with my daughter and New York State's ODP soccer team, the coach turned out to be a pedophile. We didn't see it at first because he was a hell of a coach. Now he's in jail for the next 25 years, and I'm just thankful it wasn't MY daughter he targeted. But my heart aches for the 16-year-old girl he was able to manipulate and seduce. And I wonder how we could have missed it.
As for "Sleeping Beauty," we had one of those in our family, too. My brother stayed married to her for 30 years, but eventually realized he needed more out of life. His new girlfriend takes every chance she gets to connect with us.

Well done. I liked it a lot and it made me laugh. I can see no grammatical faults.
You have just coined that sort of column. I am looking forward to read more. Ulla

This continues to be a fascinating project. The different perspectives is a stroke of genius that draws the reader in much deeper than the typical advice column. Abby had great appeal even to those of us who wouldn't admit it, this triples that in my opinion. It also offers options to those seeking advice and that has never been available in a column like this. Somehow this format makes it more personal for the reader. Abby was more agree/disagree. This is more, "The Cynic is right!" or "Hey, the Librarian is thinking the same way I do." Loving it. mikey

Thanks so much. It really is like three girlfriends weighing in on a subject and offering their opinion. The reader gets to choose.

Hi there,

This was a great cross section of issues raised in this instalment. I feel for the first guy. I have worked with kids for over twenty years but now is the time to move on. Kids are very aware of the power they possess these days and use it for their own betterment. It is sadly true, which makes many good people nervous leaving the way clear for undesirables.

A good variety of advice but still consensus of a manner.

Nicely done ladies

Yes, the little ones have new talents and resources and while all three amigas want to protect the children, there is an element among us that knows that some children have learned how to exploit the fears and failures of adults. Worse, through great effort meant to protect them--we taught them.

It is such a tricky line these days. Until recently I ran a small children's home for 4 kids aged 14 - 16 who had all suffered horrendous abuse and found it hard to trust. This led to all sorts of complications of intentions, and perceptions. It is so difficult these days, and heart breaking.
