Another great western story, nancy. You really
capture the flavor of the west.
Excellent rhyme and meter and wonderful visuals
as you convey the story.

Dear Nancy - an impressive story poem and one I loved to read. I didn't know that story.....you executed it right down to your author notes....coward indeed - what comes around goes around.
Thanks for sharing.

That was good, the poem and the author's notes, together were a great. The dates, the facts, all of it, Nancy. This is a really good way to teach youngsters the history of the US back in those days. I think you have got something really good going on with these stories in poems. Excellent! xsx Sandra

Well, I will have to stagger them or it may become mundane.
They take a lot of research too. I don't get as many reviews on them. Thanks for the review Sandra. How's the knee? :<) Nancy

Interesting story from the history of the gun slinging Wild West, doesn't sound as if it was too safe to walk the streets. I guess, Jesse had it coming to him. Excellent rhyming and well incorporated story line. Great picture. Faye

So did Bob for that matter. He shot an unarmed Jesse in the back In his own dining room. Now that is low. LOL Thanks for the review Faye. Nancy

A great poem with historical notes added. I've heard of Jesse James but wasn't aware of all the intricacies of the story. Thanks for such an eloquent poem, Nancy! Hope you're doing well? Best wishes, Pete :)

Nancy, I not only had the privilege of reading your poetic story within your poem, but I also got a history lesson in your author notes!! Great work. Life was not valued in those days. (It's about the same in Detroit now, as it was a hundred or more years ago, in the days of Jesse James!!)

Great photo too. Smiles to you. Carole

You can't please everyone - so you'll have to please yourself. I write in several different genres and styles. Some folks like one way but not another. C'est la vie. Enjoy what you do, and do what you enjoy.

A very entertaining and interesting walk back in history.. your poem as well as your authors notes. Loved what you did in stanza four.. with the picture frame.. you really had a great rhythm and rhyme structure all the way through.. the entire piece was just like being there. I admire your talent, and enjoy reading your work.

Yes he was a member of Jesse's gang of outlaws. He was promised amnesty and a reward if he killed or captured Jesse. He took the cowards way out! Thanks Sally. Nancy
