I hope she found her knight in shining armor. If she did I REALLY like this one.
Nice, Nancy. Enjoyed the read.
Fond Regards,
Janet

Great story line. I am sure there were many those times who met such a fate and had no option but to be a dance hall girl. Excellent rhyming and great picture of your daughter. Faye

Nancy, you have a real flair for the Western genre I think, in addition to your exquisite 'romantic' bend. It showed beautifully in your book (prose) and it certainly is showing in your poetry of late - The Drovers one took my breath away and this is another that's caused me to (sappy, Dawn) well up with tears. LOL. WONDERFUL!

LOL Just wait till you read about Louie, the town drunk. That's coming up. Could I repast my western novel now? I took it off when I was sick and I am so sorry now. I would like to redo it. Thanks for the review and comments Dawn. Good day! Nancy

Oh, I'll watch for Louie, and YES, you sure can bring your book back, as far as I know. (2 years?)

I didn't know the very sad details in your notes, Nancy, nor do I understand the 'Orange Agent' meaning.

They sure were a very handsome pair.

Excellent story in a poem of Pearl's initial heart-breaking disaster, and then more traumas and abuse at the hands of her 'saviour' pimp.

Then along comes her Knight in shining armour, Steve, to provide a happy ending for her and the readers. :-)

Excellent!

Cheers, Ray xx

Agent Orange was a chemical that the US sprayed the Jungle with in Vietnam to keep the soldiers safer. My son-in-law was a heavy equipment operator who cleared the paths and he was a mechanic
who keep the equipment running. Agent Orange caused all sorts of
fatal health issues for our soldiers. Howard died six months after Jim died. They were a very happy couple. Thanks for the review Ray!xxx Nancy

Wow! I am so impressed with this little story/poem of yours. It would take me forever to write something like this, and I'm guessing you just whipped it out to perfection in no time, my friend. I liked the whole story and the ending as well. And, by the way, the picture you've included is a little fuzzy, but it looks to me like Nancy Jr. looks a lot like her mom--both very attractive ladies.
You know I'd give this a sixer, but I've already awarded a couple of yours this week with sixes (I think), and I have just one left, so I will save it for a day or two. Let's just say this one gets a virtual six from me.
Hugs,
Connie

Thank you for the virtual six Connie. I do appreciate but in truth positive comments are just as desirable. LOL Yes it was a large picture we had to re size. Those pictures are so much fun.:<) Nancy

Lovely story of pearl. So sorry for your daughters loss. Too many graves in that evil war. This is a great picture of them. Should have entered this in the Story in a Poem contest...would have done well I think.

Hi Nancy,
You have a very sweet looking daughter.
So what is she doing now? Did she remarry?
My tender heart is touched about your son-in-law.
That agent orange stuff took a lot of young men
I was Pastor of a young Father in Commerce City, Co. I did
see him in the last stages, a I had retire
and moved to Kentucky, but I witnessed
the early and later stages, and apart from
prayer was helpless to aid him.

You must be a special child of God, in that
He has entrusted you with many heart aches
that He could not entrust to others.
I know that sounds oxymoron, but you
are in the class of Job and Paul. God
doesn't trust tribulation to people who
He knows will not bring glory to Himself.
Remember what He said about the man born blind?
"That he might bring glory to God."

Closing with special prayer for you.
Your Big Brother in the Lord,
Jerry 000

I don't think I am special, I just know He has my back. Jim and Howard died 6 months apart. It was a very hard time. Nancy has re-married. Howard wanted her to find someone. She met a Christian man and I like him very much too. Thank you for the review, kind words and the six Jerry. Good Night! Nancy

Nancy, At first glance, I thought the dance hall girl was you!

Nancy, This is a fun story within a poem. It's so nicely done and the photo is perfect. You do western rhyme so very well, but I enjoy and treasure all of your work. Love and hugs. Carole

This is a great poem about Pearl and her escape from a horrible fate at the hands of the banker who no doubt owned the town. Your author notes about your daughter and the fate of her husband make me sad but it is a lovely photograph of them together enjoying a (holiday?) in the Old West. Best wishes, Nancy! Pete :)
