This is a 5 1/2 for me. I do think you mean "ensure" rather than "insure." Still, this is one of the best pieces of advice I have heard.

That is excellent advice, and I hope those who are bullied take note of it. I hate bullies, more should be done to put them down. Good luck in the contest, Mikey. xsx Sandra

To michaelcahill,
Great observances as it seems everyday the people as well as the children are becoming more bolder if less respect for their fellow citizen.
It like it is open game season and the one that throws the hardest punch gets all the accolades.

You are right and I am the first to insert my mouth into any perceived bullying situation. When I was a manager at Barnes & Noble, I can't tell you how many times I got in trouble for defending employees from unjustifiable irate customers. Fear is when the bully is bigger than you and is understandable. But inaction- nope.

This would certainly make for a better world. I know Hubby stepped in when he saw a mother haul off and hit her toddler in the mall. I think she told him to mind his own business.

Wow, this is a no-nonsense, powerful admonishment as well as excellent advice - remind me never to stand in your way when you have a cause to fight for - in fact, remind me to call on you the next time someone tries bullying tactics with me! Great entry for this contest!

Amen Brother! I am a manager of a restaurant and have seen this first hand, both by other managers and guest's. I don't allow the guest to talk trash about the servers and I don't allow the servers the luxury of talking trash about the guest. Very well crafted entry for this writing prompt my friend.
When I was in high school at lunchtime, the other kids would harass and bully the MHMR students. The second day I witnessed this action I simply moved to the table with them, I received a couple of odd comments myself from fellow classmates. But the bullying stopped, at least during lunch and these kiddo's were so very happy.
God bless!

Yes, I would consider this great advice, to stand up for the person who is being bullied. This behaviour can have devastating effects on so many, so much so that they can take their own lives.
well done, good luck in the contest.
