Sometimes things can set you off but the main thing is to be able to settle down and do it the right way. I even let my children know that what I did was not a good thing to do

your few words in the 5-7-5 is well put
allows one to see and feel the chaos that is portrayed in shouting and screaming
flows easy to understand
cheers Smoothiecool
hope the calm comes to give you peace of heart

All mothers have moments when our children seem to get the better of us--part of parenting;
Good audio imagery you incorporate with good alliteration as we teach our children the importance of quiet; easier said than done, but we love them nevertheless!

LOL - Life does have a way of getting under our skin ;-)
Also - while it is true a calm mother equals a calm family,,
so is it true - a calm family equals a calm mother!

Hi lorraine :) It's true....when they're calm, so am I and all is well in the world! (but the calmness SHOULD start with me!)

Just think--someday you'll look back on those days when your children were little and noisy, and you will miss that noise. That will most likely happen after the youngest one is grown and moves out and your house suddenly becomes quiet. Just you wait and see!
Hugs,
Connie

Thank you Connie for your great feedback. I will miss it I know. In fact I miss them now, even when they're only at school.... once they're home, it doesn't take long for the volume to drive me insane though!
Kindest regards as always, Debra :) x

LOL, every time I see your name come up in my messages, I think to myself, O..oh, what have the little monkeys been up to now! And this time, you are making the noise! Well, what can we say? Such a bad influence on those little loves. LOL, I promise that one day, I will take YOUR side! :) Sandra.xxx

I think I know just how you feel.. your poem brought back memories for me.. I raised 6.. don't feel to bad about raising your voice, sometimes you just have to! I do understand the point you make in your authors notes though.. you must be a really good mom for feeling bad about it!

Your words are true to life, mothers are human and sometimes respond by yelling. Excellent use of words and flow of lines. Your theme is relevant to today and many can relate.
