My sister is the crazy one and I know my fiance has issues being around her. He still comes to family functions and I've learned to read him. I know when he's had enough and we try to squeak out when I see him reach his limits, My family is just happy he shows up to things because my sisters husband never comes around. It's a thin line that we all have to walk.
My whole boyfriend with kids. I get wanting to keep the kids away from a new relationship for awhile because you don't want people to keep coming in and out of their life. That's not healthy but after a year you should be able to meet them at a neutral place. Him not taking you out on a date is alarming to me. You don't have to do anything fancy or anything. A nice movie in with Chinese or something. Nothing fancy or expensive but still time with each other. I get he has kids but if you're really that important he would find a way.
I think the cynic said it all for the fourteen year old. I couldn't have said it any better. She needs to reach out whether it be family, someone at school, a friend or a hotline of some sort. Great job

Hi Ingrid,
who knew, a virtual panel on a virtual site could be so entertaining? Does that make me a snoop... someone that gets off reading someone else's problems?
I believe you have a great cross-section of advice going on here... there is a lot of people out here that this column is going to help... if only through someone else's dilemma's.
I think there's going to be more than a few readers waiting for Sunday's post... is there going to be a stock amount of letters answered? Or just a selected few?
No matter, loved it ladies. Good solid advice coming from all angles....Jeez, I hope the young girl takes your advise... she should not be alone, with no one to talk to.

The idea has been rattling around in my head. There hasn't been any 'over-the-back-fence-advice' since Dear Abby disappeared. Everyone comes with qualifications and a list of degrees. This is three broads from different countries and lifestyles giving an opinion. I think it's marketable and we're running a test run here.
We got some great questions this week and I promise, this week will be a hoot. We're going to run three on average each week, and no, we will be selective. This week a homophobic nut-bar went off on a quasi question about why homosexuals kidnapped the 'gay' word and asked us to explain 'gay philosophy. Pass.
-
Hey, you sure that wasn't me? I'm still pissed about the takeover of the word... straight out of our vocabulary... what really gets to me... not sure if you had an ice cream over your way called a 'Gaytime'... it was one of my fav's vanilla covered in a butterscotch and biscuit crumb... just like the word.... poof! Gonksi! Will we ever get it back? smile))))))). I would have loved that one... ah well... suppose that would have been a hard question to answer, hey? I want my Gaytime back? You know what I mean , right?

I totally agree with all the answers to that first whiner who can't man up to go to a family gathering without complaining about his wife's family. LOL
the guy who won't introduce the girlfriend to his kids after an entire year - yeah, time to write him off - if he were really into this woman and committed to her he would have made those intros by now, and he would have taken on a bigger date than a stop for coffee. I agree he has kids to take care of first, but if after supporting his kids he hasn't twenty bucks to spend on an occasional meal at Burger King for him and the girlfriend, or yes, on a picnic, does she think he's ever going to spend the money required to marry her? This guy needs to be written off fast.
I agree with the answers to the kid, who sounds like some depression and serious self esteem issues are going on - the child needs to see a pastor or school counselor or coach, or trusted aunt, someone, because 14 is too young to shoulder that burden all alone.

That kid troubles me the most. People often miss signs of drug use or abuse. Thanks for reading.

Jeezum-crow, where are all my sixes when I need them? Ladies, I bow before you. Not only is the writing superior (and spag-free, as far as I can tell), the advice is priceless! If this idea doesn't get picked up, and in fact, become syndicated, I'll eat ochre for a year (and I HATE that slimy vegetable). Seriously, this is so good, I actually might write in for advice! (I originally thought I'd never do that, but all three of you have POVs that really force me to think about the merits of three sensible, and possibly different opinions about some of my messes...LOL.)
As if that isn't enough in the pro column for this write, its entertainment value is also priceless - some of the stuff is hilarious! Kudos, gals. Masterful!
Signed,
someone who always grabbed the paper to read Ann or Abby first and foremost
SUPER ENTERTAINMENT!!! ***********************************!!! (Tom - MORE SIXES, PUH-LEEEEZE!)

Wait till you see this Sunday's questions. Received one today that tested my 'Poise.' Getting questions from people who have metaphoric abilities is just down-right hysterical.
It really is my intent to take this idea and after a few weeks worth of columns actually pitch it to some newspapers. It's original and there's appeal with three different citizenships and broadly different backgrounds. Glad you enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to ask the questions. The answers may not solve anything, but what the hell, it's better than asking a biased friend.
-
I look forward to it eagerly!

For the first time through I have to reward a sixer, because I thought you accomplished the task you set out for.
The three responses can easily be seen they are from different people with somewhat different views. You need that.
Nicely done. Although I'm not a fan of reading this stuff in the newspapers, out of respect for my fellow writers, I will look forward to these each week and hope you can go national!

Wow, John. Thanks so much for the glitter, it is sincerely appreciated. Stay tuned for Sunday's edition. We got a question that had me rolling on the floor from laughing,
And Yes, though we're having some fun with this right now, my intent is to test the response then actually look for some interested newspapers.
Sunday, Smurphgirl, Sasha, will be posting the Tres Amigas to share the fan base and we will alternate weekly posts, but the answers are written individually. Thanks again.

I am sure some will say I should not be allowed to review this but the heck with that. I obviously love this idea and am keeping my finger crossed that others like it too. I think the questions are excellent and each response well thought out and presented professionally and, hopefully, will provide some options to the person looking for an answer.

Trust me, when you post, I'll be throwing in my review too, See if you get any questions, if not, I'll go back to my other source. Next week you can post and grab some points and of course I'll write my portion.

I've gotten a few...read the reviews on my ramble/introduction. You will see them.

This is such a unique idea, kind of a NAFTA for emotional growth and spiritual prosperity. It's amazing to see what people can create when they band together. Great job!

This was great!! I love that each of you had such independent answers. But the vein was consistant. Good strong voices with intelligent advice.

I am certain that we will disagree. There's too much diversity in our personalities. Thanks for the stars

This is a great idea and I think it will fly with you guys at the helm. Each letter deals with problems readers can relate to, and your individual answers showcase different personalities...we're these three letters real ones or examples? This series reminds me of the book I am currently reading, written by Cheryl Strayed...Tiny Beautiful Things...she is an advice columnists whose name is Sugar. She puts her life stories into her responses....really great going, amigas and keeping the Librarian a mystery to us fanstorians is intriguing as hell. One nit it should be your mother, not you mother.

It must have been the weight of the stars slowing it down...thanks very much.

Advice that is truthful? I follow with interest to see how this goes over. Many prefer advisors that tell them what they want to hear. I look forward to the next weekly addition.
