This is a great idea for a book. What a nice way for a parent to start a child's day with a positive little story to put them in a good mood. I like this one especially that encourages hard work and shows that there are rewards for it. mikey

A very nice story about study, hardworking, and the results of it that pay off in good grades. A realistic presentation of Nikki's diligent study while others play. Nice touch with the ice cream.

Interesting story, and reward after achievement is right and proper.
Lots of kids find tests hard, and some have to really struggle, yet
it is worth the feeling of success and achievement for the effort.
Pretty much life is always a test...passing one after the other as
long as we live. May not always get the rewards for the effort
or achievement, but still it must be done.

Yes, hard work pays off. Successful children are given good training. It is important that mothers help their children with homework, and be encouraging.
Some suggestions:
Sighing Nikki puts her backpack on the ground, and opens it.
Suggest:
Sighing[,] Nikki puts her backpack on the ground before opening it.

'Do you see now that your work gets rewarded?,'
Suggest:
'Do you see [how] your work gets rewarded?' [delete the comma]

'We have to celebrate. Come, we will get an ice cream, because deserve that so much.'
That's for sure.
suggest:
'We have to celebrate! Come, we'll get an ice cream, because you deserve it -- that's for sure.'
