Anything that looks or crawls like a spider...I prefer to stay away......Though better than snakes...And think you have your lot of both in Australia, as we do here in the US, but think you have more to contend with & a lot stranger varieties there...Anyways, I like your poem & great picture.

Thanks Caressa. He was in there with me again other day. Still wanna try and get a photo of him or one of his family ha! Thanks for coming by. Have you checked out my wife's "Our Trip" book yet? Look for "Tootsie55" She writes the stories I proof read and put them up on her account. Good seeing you again. Take Care.

Hi, Sankey...Will definitely check out your wife's book...didn't realize, until now she was writing here on FS...Oh, my husband had a Dear Aunt, whose nickname was Toots....Here in the US, & don't know about Australia, if that is a common women's name or nickname...It's good to be back, yet again...C.

hi, her dad called her that as a term of endearment I guess. When she was little. She could not walk until 4 and they did not realise she was deaf till nearly then either. Loise has Cerebral palsy as you will see in her stuff I wrote the first chapter.

We have daddy long legs, but they're not as scary looking as that gentleman! This is a scream. Hahaha. Very clever. Smooth flowing and poetic on the technical side as well. Great little piece. mikey

I am not sure about that picture. Will look at it again. Our Daddy's are pretty harmless looking. Maybe the picture is of something else. Thanks for your review mate. Don't for get to look at the Youtube I made of our quick 10 minute video of our wedding. Unofficial had we known would have been nice to have more but we did not want official anyway. Chapter 21 of my Autobiography.

I saw the video. I left more remarks. Looked pretty good to me. Good sound and all. Proud groom and a bride with a dazzling smile!

Thanks old mate. Yes as she was walking down the aisle to me, it is unseen that I was bawling my eyes out in joy! She does not walk on the crutches anymore sadly.

I've talked to the trees during April showers, conversed with the stars at night for hours. But you bring to light what many must decide, what to do with the spiders we might shower beside. I am constantly surprised and pleased to come upon the subjects of poets. The diversity is so enjoyable. Next time you shower, should you encounter additional legs, say hello from me. Let them know I too will let them be. It was a pleasurable read.

Charming poem and don't we all have these 8 legged creatures watching from the dark corners of our homes and yes sometimes in the shower too. I was told once to stop vacuuming them up because daddy long legs actually ate the notorious poisonous white tailed spiders we seem to accommodate. Excellent rhyme and imagery. Well done. Blessings, Miriam

Hi Miriam lovely name I have an Aunt Miriam we call her Aunty MIm in her 90's now. I know you reviewed my other poem before and nice to see you back again. Not sure where you are if in USA the rewards are probably just about run out on my Book of Poultry but I think you were in there before. White tail spider is that in Australia or? Sounds familiar. Someone said the US Daddy does not make silk webs but I know the Aussie fella does. Thanks for coming through again.

We have Daddy Long Legs in the U.S. I don't know if they look the same. They are, in fact, poisonous but their mouths are too small to be able to bite a person. I wouldn't think that they would appreciate sharing a shower with anyone.

Hi friend with all the fabulous reviews I have had on this I understand our Daddy Long legs are different. The US type apparently does not produce silk webs but ours do. Ours are harmless to humans but lethal to bugs. Thanks for the great review.
reply by Delahay on 07-Dec-2014
I think ours are probably also lethal to bugs since they are poisonous but cannot harm people. I don't remember where I heard or saw that their mouths are too small to be able to bite people. It seems it was many years ago.

I often find a spider or other creepy crawly in the shower but I am not that friendly with them. This is very well written.

Heh, heh. Yes, the ol' red back on the toilet seat strikes again! I remember them not-so-fondly. The worst memory, which this post brought back to me as I read (thank you VERY much!) is of the funnel webs lurking in the corners of the shower cubicles of the caravan park at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains when I was a boy. Scared the crap out of me...

Thanks, Sankey. Ant.

I think daddy long legs must be everywhere. They do seem to be partial to bathrooms in this hemisphere as well.
Happy showering, my friend.

Thanks for the lovely review. I have a feeling our Daddy Long Legs Northern and Southern Hemisphere might be a bit different. Someone from your neck of the woods said yours don't create silk where as ours do make their own webs. I have had a real good run of reviews for this and the Smoking story. I can't remember if you saw my Vain Pee Wee Poem but it is the Intro to my first release of my Book of Poultry...some smelly, weird quirky poems. You may have read some of them as stand alones a long time ago I know we have been friends on here for ages. There are still some rewards until tomorrow your time I think.

Don't worry, we have them here, too, they are harmless but I sure don't like them, especially not in the shower. Well chosen words and rhymes about your shower companion. Enjoyable read. Faye
