Wow! Short and precise. Hope your character didn't kill the children. You write like you were talking to God himself. A nice letter nothing to add from me.

Excellent!

Thanks, Caroline, and I was...talking to God, I mean. I think if mankind -- meaning all of humanity -- had one voice, we'd so want to apologize for the mess our world is in today. Innocents being beheaded on video by ruthless dogs, war, famine, sex slave trades, sweat shops, wanton promiscuity in so much of society. The list goes on, and on.

Thanks very much for reading my story, and for your excellent comments and exceptional rating. All are greatly appreciated. :)

I think your words will resonate with a lot of people Dean and I particularly agree with your lines that life used to feel good but doesn't feel good anymore. Such is the world we live in. Great setting you've used, good luck in the contest.

A very moving but matter of fact letter to God. You have poured your heart out about the things that are relevant to today. Why did you cross out 'do love them'?
God asks that we forgive our hurts and love our brother as ourselves. Strong entry in the contest.
Best of luck

    Thanks, emropoems.

I crossed out 'do love them' because "mankind", whom the letter is supposedly written by and incorporates all of humanity, and when having a chance to stop and think about it, they realized that we were sorrier for creating a mess out of things than they were about loving anyone. If that makes any sense, that was my intent, anyhow.

Anyway, thanks for the review, I truly appreciate it.

I think a lot of people in these times struggle to find their purpose. Creative idea and thought out letter. Nicely written and thanks for posting.

I think it would be more appropriate to say kind of man, rather than mankind. As lately, I can find nothing kind about man. I enjoyed reading this very creative piece of writing... John

I think the most of those who reach the stage mention do reach out for guidance, perhaps to the wrong source. I would hate to think I would wake up in front of the creator trying to make excuses for murdering myself.

Sorry about that, I got cut off right in the middle of my reply to you. I apologize.

Mankind has made a huge mess of everything that God has given to him. Wars, greed, wanton promiscuity...the list goes on and on, and it is no one's fault but our own for not being strong, and far too often turning the other cheek and looking the other way.

Thanks very much for your review. I sincerely appreciate it.

I'm so tired, Lord... Sorry for the mess... What a pity mankind had to leave a mess behind, but I can understand the mankind situation rather well. I think you used your brain when you created this story. Well done.

I always try to, Chase. Use my brain ( such as it's limited capacities will allow ), that is.

I'm happy you got the gist of this, what I was trying to convey here. if mankind, which is all of humanity, could speak as one voice, I think mankind would beg forgiveness for the mess it has made of things. Wars, famine, poverty and greed, just to name a few, were not what life was intended to be. But, sadly, much of it is today.

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts with me on this write, as it is very personal.

    Much appreciated! ~ :}

Blowing a reader's socks off is what it's all about, my dear Shona. If that's at all possible, I mean. I'm very happy that you grasped the concept I was attempting to convey with this, and I'm certainly grateful for your wonderful comments and rating.

    Thank you!

Hi the author,

Hmm, I think as suicide notes go, this one takes a prize, and I wish you good luck in the competition. Mankind do seem to have become the unruly teen 'gang' in our constant abuse of everything and everyone and lack of anby respect for anything, especially God.

Crikey! That's a horror story to me. It is a good effort and a good entry to the competition, but I pray it is not the case my friend. Good luck and God bless, cheers Fez

Thanks, Feral, but I feel mankind, as a race, has really messed this big ole' world up something fierce. War, poverty, famine, disease, greed...

I appreciate your kind comments very much, my friend. :)
