Hi Dean

You put me in a spot, ah with all that blood! No. this is not true. Remember, I had been busy with so many little things - murder, rape, stampede, war, atrocities of all kinds imaginable and unimaginable - I had no time for kids or kid-stuff. I hardly ever sleep (don't tell 'em), and 'am getting old myself. Sorry for the mess; clear it yourself Dean. You won't regret.

Hah-hah, thanks, ravim, and I wish that I could clean up the mess mankind has made of our once beautiful world all by myself. The traditional African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child" has been widely quoted when examining the partnerships required during the maturation of our youth. Our "village" has never been more necessary than it is today. We live in a face-paced, instant information, and pressure-packed world. Today's children are faced with a myriad of both challenges and opportunities. Navigating parenthood can be a daunting undertaking -- partnerships and supports are welcome and necessary to prepare our students for tomorrow.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with me on this poem. I sincerely appreciate that! ~Dean

This contest letter to God, is both clever and unfortunately for many, very true. I often wonder as I listen to the news of the latest atrocity, why are we here. The world is being taken over by 'disrespectful' people, evil people. Congratulations on another really well deserved win, Dean. xsx sandra

Exactly, Sandra. me too, and the very reasons you've cited so well is precisely why it is written the way it is.

    Thanks so much again! "}

This is a meaningful piece. I is a puzzle how destruction man is, and looking at history, the human race doesn't appear to learn from mistakes. Thank goods We can have redemption in spite of our stupidity.

I always enjoyed the creative content of your poetry, Dean, but this one was special!

The Signature of the poem is the twist, of course. It wasn't expected.

I must say I'm still having a problem with the reference to "mother" in the letter. The Son of God would refer to Jesus, but the way it's written the "mother" would be the mother of God, not of Jesus.

This poem was certainly a winner!

In my church we believe in the holy trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). They are all one in the same. So, since Jesus is the Son of Mary, Mary is, in fact, the son of God. That was my intent for writing it the way I did, Jay.

Thanks very much for the review. You've always been very supportive of my work, and I appreciate it immensely.

Thank you for the explanation. My church, The Assembly of God, also shares that belief. I wasn't thinking of the Holy Trinity.

Hi Dean, well you certainly know how to put your point across don't you, As soon as I saw the bloodstained letter I knew who the author was, this is a great piece of very true writing and I loved the way you presented it, thanks for sharing my friend.

Thanks, Eric, but soon that will be a thing of the past as I am teaching quite a few others how to create such poems and stories.

I very much appreciate your comments.

This piece is perfection and an inspiration to me; it galvonizes my resolve to speak boldly the things pertaining the Eternal and the truth of their words, that all may understand their true purpose and why they exist on this earth.

You overwhelmingly deserve to, and so have won the contest.

This piece is magnificent and you should feel no small amount of pride in it.

I don't know how you did this, but the presentation is mind-boggling. What comes through to me is the disrespect that young people show, and even adults who think violence in the streets is the answer. A post that's hard to beat.

Thanks, Spit, and it wasn't easy to get all of the letters in that font superimposed onto the image. It took a lot of formatting and reworking to make it legible. But, with reviews such as this, and the exceptional rating, it make all the extra efforts worthwhile.

    Thanks a bunch! :)
