I'm so sorry for your loss and understand how grief can stir the creative juices a bit. A couple of issues: in the last line I think you want to say "presence", not present. Also--consider eliminating "past" before day. It would be clearer to say "fades each day", or fades as each day passes. This poem has strength in its simplicity of honoring a cherished friend.
