But what really is a fair price, and will you get your money's worth? I make postings of my book in roughly 800 word segments and offer 82 cents with sometimes a chance of more. Is that fair? Well done poem.

It's so true what you say, but It would be be very difficult to measure the varying degrees of payments Geoff, it wouldn't be easy to police! I think it always works out, I have reviewed works of 50 words with the same reward value as one I reviewed today with 3800 words, but it evens out in the end! Thanks Roy good to see you coming by. I agree with what you say. As I have said I am a sucker for a good read and even when the reward is low if the story is good I am 'in like Flynn' ok!

You'll have a lot of Fanstorians in agreement with you, Geoff.
The pay is tied to your ability to promote your own work. The sad thing is a person can cut and paste the same thing on all reviews and rack up the member dollars and pumps along the way and not even read the work that people pour their souls into. Others spend ten minutes to a half hour reading one piece and really giving thoughtful reviews... but it doesn't allow him/her enough time to earn a lot of bucks.
I like your poem for what it does to make us think, Geoff.

Thanks mate I am sorry to hear about the cut and paste folks. I mainly save up the cut and pastes for responses to reviews if there sare a heap of them on one page but I mostly do a personal response as you know.

Hey mate sorry I wrote a reply then forgot to save it. When people ask I always put on the snooty accent and with a flick of my wrist I say "Oh...we live in the Eastern Suburbs.....of Penrith! So not all that far from you mate. Appreciate the review will look for your stuff as I have time. Used to come down your way a lot when the folks were in Queen Victoria Nursing Home in Picton. If you read the Darby and Joan chapter of my autobiography (The Little Dog That Wouldn't let Go) you will see where i mention about wishi8ng the M7 etc was in a lot sooner hehe. hated the Northern Rd Luddenham Rd thing.

I have certain writers that I review for base pay. They are individuals who have talent, but cannot afford to support their work. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Thanks mate I am always a sucker for a good story but like you when people constantly put up looooong stories with little or no reward it gets a bit tiresome. You do know you inspired this of course. God Bless and thanks for coming by.

Thanks mate appreciate the review. Good of you to come by. As I said I am not pressed for rewards but the same guy I quoted said if the rewards aren't there he won't read em. I am a sucker for a good story though hehe.

I understand new friend. Thanks for coming by. I have now been with FS for 16 months and I try and split up the writing and reviewing do a bit of reviewing then some writing and so on. As I said to another reviewer I am a sucker for a good story sometimes even if the rewards are not there. Will see if I can find your stuff ok!
