Wow, I love the Aussie flag, it is brilliant! I agree that each and every person on fanstory should be given some sort of encouragement to boost their writing skills. Anyway, thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day!

That's okay and your welcome!

Hi Geoff, I enjoyed reading this poem. I liked the slang you put on it. It rhymes and flows well. Glad you reposted, as I didn't get to read it the first time around.

Hi Sis glad you liked. Charley Lucas inspired it when he said that our rewards (in the promotions)indicate our belief in our work, ages ago.
Comment from Curly Girly
Hi, Sankey, I enjoyed reading your poem. This is too true--writers do need to promote their work. It's not fair to put it out there with 2c and expect people to read it. Nobody does that. Although I entered a contest, only afterwards I saw that FS put it out to readers as an unpromoted work. I'll have to watch out for that in the future.

Thanks mate. Charley Lucas inspired me to write this. It was he whom I learned from that our pride in our work and its worth is indicated by how we promote it.

Thanks Marybell it was a real oldie but I put it up for some newer friends to encourage them. If you know Charley Lucas he inspired this. It was from him I learned that our rewards for reviewing reflect our belief in our work.

You are most welcome.

Hi Sankey, you are just saying what I'm thinking. This site doesn't run like that. Some write a chapter which will take you ten minutes or more to read expecting a fair review, and then at the end it pays you nothing. That's not what this site is about. We have to earn our phoney money to be able to post, and learn. All the best, Ulla :))

Thanks Ulla, you are on the same track as me and many others. I think you know I am a sucker for a good story even if the rewards are non-existent. I was inspired to write this by dear old Charley Lucas who pointed out that our rewards indicate our belief in the worth of our creations.

I couldn't agree with you more:))

I entirely agree. This is very well put and right to the point. Now I have to pad this out so
Very best wishes to you Sankey and have a nice day.

Thanks new friend I think. I will try and check your stuff out. I do believe in reciprocation. This poem has hit the top award now I just ran it for some new friends to help.

I admired your conversational style and rhymed quatrains as you discussed fairness in the reward for reviewing work on FanStory. Keep enjoying reading and writing on the site. Smiles- Joan

Absolutely. Some review for dollars, some for points. To me, if I'm going to give my time, I'd like points. I rarely read those that don't put points on their work. Yes, it costs more...but what's my time worth? I just skip them. Loved this!! Blessings...

Thanks Sis. I had the top award on this already I just ran it to help some newer fans on FS. I was inspired to write this originally by Charley Lucas.

I hope I'm not one of the mean ones, Sankey. As a rule I offer 5 stars, although I've had occasionally doled out a 4 where the writer was simply lazy (formatting, line breaks, etc), and I tell them the reason why. Just as I tell those I give the 5 where their stories could have been better and I correct spags I catch.
Here are my fave lines:
It ain't fair for readers
Who take time of day
To review great long writes
Without any pay.

I feel lucky in that I have never paid attention to the rewards of a post. If I like a writer I will read what they post and not give a second thought to the rewards. I do wish some would break their posts into 1, 2, or three parts to fgve the reviewer a breather but I know it costs to post and some just cannot afford paying for three separate posts.

Yeah you make a lot of sense. There have been some really loooong ones around lately. I made a suggestion as requested by one of the newer friends on where to break a long chapter and she liked my suggestion. Thanks for the big SIX mate. Felt like this needed to come out again after so long.
