There's no better season to walk your dog or pet than autumn and summer.
Beautiful write!
But I must ask. Is it autumn over there now?

the syllable count works well
as does the rhyme scheme
and I love the wise and warm advice in the refrain line
good alliteration in set some smart
and in feeling fine
good detail of setting and an upbeat mood :-) Brooke

Walk your dog- you don't have to command me. It is my favorite pastime. After all, my little Shiba Inu is the queen of the household. Do you have a dog?

Thank you ravenblack. Ive had several dogs, but the last one died 4 years ago, as i stated in my notes. All my dogs over the years has been rescued from the Dog Shelters. I've had a Saint Bernard, Sheltie, American Eskimo, Husky/Shephard, and Black Lab over the years.

This is a lovely little Autumnal poem, Tom, and so descriptive. I love this time of the year, the colours, as you rightly say, are so beautiful. This, again, was a pleasure to read. xsx Sandra

Hi, Trieschel,

Awesome pix of Autumn around the couple.

Here in the desert of AZ, we don't get much cool, crisp air. But, as they say, 'it is a dry hear!'

Some pets, no matter how long they've been gone. we just never get over them.

Nicely penned.

Cheers & Blessings

The repetition of the words 'walk your dog' adds a splendor to this piece of the enjoyment of autumn as you walk your dog. Dog will be happy today. Well done, Tom.

I liked your poem because it really said what I feel about walking a dog. I had two husky/malemute dogs for 12 years till they passed away last year, I miss them terribly, too as I am sure you do yours. Lovely picture, looks just like my Noatak. Good use of rhyming and an enjoyable read. I took my dogs on a six mile hike when they were younger (I posted a poem about this, too)Faye

A lovely image of Autumn.
This Quintain format is showcased beautifully in this lovely seasonal poem .
Although it's spring in Oz the leaves are falling as though it's autumn because it is so dry. Rather strange really.

Beautiful dog! Sorry yours passed. It's hard to lose a beloved pet. This is nicely done. I wish leaves changed her in FL, but they are just green all the time. Boo! Rox
