This made a nice limerick and a tender tribute to an old friend. I have crippling arthritis in my fingers. Years ago I had to sell mine and I grieved. I took up painting to replace it and then writing.

Who was the famous composer who was as deaf as a post but still composed, hearing the instruments in his head, Beethoven I believe, just a thought, I'm truly sorry to hear that you're deaf, Geoff, can't hear very much? Nicely written Geoff, well done, blessings, Roy.

Thanks Bro still composing so no worries there. Still composing and not decomposing yet ha! Thanks for coming by. I am making up a new book for all these sentimental sorts of poems and essays and compositions from school. Felt they did not belong in the Book of Poultry where all the funny stuff is ha.

There are two poetry books now and the new poem on the Piano will get added to the new book after reviewing is done. I can probably put it in the new book now but then I have to go searching the book for it. have I given you a link to the page on the church web site where all my carols and some songs that came from a lady's poems are located? On the First of December I change some of the church web site pages to put the christmas stuff in people's vision a bit more but can give you the link now if interested.

When I was around nine, my Mother paid a local piano teacher six weeks in advance for my piano lessons. After the third lesson, the teacher demanded that mother take all her lesson fees back. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Most of us take for granted the 5 senses we are able to use every day. I have kin folks that are deaf, two bothers and their Dad. One brother is doing well for himself and the other spends his time feeling sorry for himself. It's all in how we approach life that counts.

Glad you were able to find a buyer for the piano. Well done, Buck

Hi old or new hehe friend. yeah lady I bought it from ten years ago wanted a piano again I tried getting more for it to no avail and the Tuner offered me a price so I told this lady if she was happy to have it at the same as the Tuner's offer she was welcome to it. She is also a personal friend of ours for a long time too. I originally bought the piano off her to help with a tax debt she had. It was sad seeing it roll out a little while ago but my wife loves the extra space she now has in the Lounge room hehe. Thanks for the review coming up to final big edsit of my autobiography and major review with rewards. Then sorting out more photos off of FS for the published edition as we can only use one pic a chapter in here. Thanks see ya later.

I feel so bad you had to give up your piano. This is a wonderful poem and I certainly enjoyed reading it. Excellent job. Judy

Thanks Judy was so sad seeing it rolling out the door but the lady who bought it was the one I purchased it from about 10 years ago. I had heard she may want a piano again and there were no other beter offers so the Tuner had offered a lower price than I was after so I said to the lady she could have it for the same price. My wife was keen to have more space in the loungeroom and as the poem said I can't hear it now anyway. Thanks very much we are approaching Final editing and big whole book review of my autobiography real soon now.

I enjoyed your poem. Yes, it is sad that the piano no longer gives you pleasure. But, I believe you were wise to sell it so others can get pleasure from it. I see nothing to change. Good job and thanks for sharing.

Thanks janny yeah the lady I bought it from some years ago was happy to take it back at a reduced price. I tried to get more for it but had no responses. Then the Tuner said they would give me such and such so I had a feeling the previous owner was keen to get a piano again now so I said she could have it for the same price the tuner was willing to pay, a loss but nevertheless a quick sale. She is also a personal long time friend so nice to know where it has gone.

How sad you must have felt letting your piano go. It sounds as if it was well loved and much played by your whole family. I think you are lucky to have had the talent to give Jo to other people from your playing....so many people can never do that.

Thanks friend for coming by. If you read my autobiography (and I am pretty sure you have read some of it)you will have seen me talk about my music and getting into trouble for "doing my own thing" and all that, as a young child. Thanks again.

I like the requiem you sang in your poem for your piano. Only those who play can understand the connection you can feel with what others consider an inanimate object.

A beautiful old upright so obviously well cared for. A very brave write with a nice tone to it. It must be a difficult thing to do to say goodbye to such a great friend. You have my sympathies. My wife thought I was crazy when she asked me if I would rather lose a hand or my sight and I told her my sight. I know you'd get that. Great piece. Very touching as there is no doubt to the reader of the feeling underneath. mikey
