a humorous haiku with clever imagery
I love the visual you create in describing the look of this veggie and its surrounding cheese sauce LOL
good alliteration in your closing :-) Brooke

Gave this my vote in the contest.
I think you have to read the author notes to fully grasp what you are attempting to convey with this haiku. When you do, you appreciate the imagination that has gone into the verse. Sadly, I don't think all on here will get it, and that's a shame.
Well, you got my vote and it was on merit. Pays to have a nosy around the site occasionally. Now I'm gone again.

Of course the boy would gobble them. What is there to not like in cauliflower drowning in cheese sauce. Sounds delicious. You did a great job.

In reading your author notes, I would be willing to try "Caulifower cheese";
"cauliflower sheep"--the dish does strongly resemble sheep;
"molten cheesy lava"-=good visual imagery perfectly complements the art;
A well-penned tasty poem.

this is very well written, mystery writer, I like cauliflower raw with ranch dressing, but I don't care for it cooked. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

This meets the contest requirements nicely. This displays inventive imagery equating cauliflower with sheep - solid satori. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Very clever way to disguise a vegetable that most kids don't like for some reason.
I'm not sure of the connection with 'sheep', unless you infer the kid THINKS he doesn't like them because his peers don't.
Fun read.
Good luck and best wishes, Ray.

Hi Ray :) Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and good luck wishes. I appreciate both! Sometimes the cauliflower are sheep, sometimes they are clouds. Sometimes the broccoli are trees and sometimes the peas are missiles - all depends on what 'works' for the kids on any given day! I'll try anything to get them to eat what's good for them LOL
Kindest regards...:)

Thanks for your fun and gracious reply.

This sounds like something a little boy would say.
It never ocurred to me but cauliflower does resemble sheep.
Good luck in the contest.

This story was short but I enjoyed it. I write books myself and never was really interested in poetry but this one really hit me. I pray that your work goes far for you. Good luck.
